My fall semester has been smooth sailing so far. However, as we are approaching the end of the semester, assignments, deadlines, and projects are piling up.
For my major, I have to write a 1,200-word essay about an article that I read this semester. The topic of my essay is based on an article that is about how childhood experiences are linked to violence. I also have to create a presentation slide show about the results of my findings, explaining the outcome of the article I read throughout the semester.
For my pre-requisite classes, IAH history, I have to write a five-page essay about two books I read during this semester. In my essay, I have to compare and contrast the way womanhood and femininity are shown in the two books.Â
In my ISS Risk and Society class, I have to conduct a 2,000-word essay on a topic we covered during one of our 15 weeks this semester. I am choosing to write about Contraband Smuggling, which is when someone smuggles illegal merchandise across borders. So far I have just over 1,500 words; I am currently working on it and hope to get it done before Thanksgiving.Â
For my ISP anatomy class, I need to study for my final exam which is a week after Thanksgiving. So, that’s not too bad in comparison to my other classes — phew!
Last but not least, I have to create a presentation about fast fashion in my FW Introduction to Science, Technology, Environment, and Public Policy class. I am currently working on how fast fashion affects society in all aspects, explaining how technology, science, the environment, and public policy are involved in it. While most people know what fast fashion is and how to avoid the harmful waste that comes with it, they may not know the underlying causes of harm. In my group, we are talking about how we can reduce environmental harm by tackling the root of the problem: fast fashion.
So far, this semester has been easy. Exam week is going to be a little more challenging, but it will help push my limits and time management. During exam week, keep track of deadlines for assignments, be mindful of others who are focusing on their studies, and learn to be patient with yourself. Good luck with your projects and exams.
