If The Monster High Girls Went To Michigan State

To get in the spirit of Halloween, I found myself rewatching the Monster High series. After getting to know the characters, these are my predictions on what the Monster High girls would be like if they went to Michigan State University:

Abbey Bominable

Major: Kinesiology

Housing: Owen Hall

Extracurricular: Ski & Snowboarding Team

Favorite place in EL: Tasty Twist

Fun Facts:

-Will give a frat boy the cold shoulder.

-Is the reason Munn Ice Arena functions.

-Runs to IM East every morning.

Frankie Stein

Major: Communicative Sciences and Disorders

Housing: Yakeley Hall

Extracurricular: CHAARG

Favorite place in EL: Wherever her friends are

Fun Facts:

-Got on the 31 instead of the 33 by mistake.

-Lost her bolts and they’re sitting in Holden’s lost and found.

-Is the ghoul you don’t know but see everywhere.

Cleo de Nile

Major: Business (is going to be a CEO)

Housing: Delta Gamma House

Extracurricular: VIM Magazine

Favorite Place In EL: Deuce’s frat house

Fun Facts:

-Drinks are always on her.

-Is cheering on the field.

-Every going-out top is designer.

Clawdeen Wolf

Major: Political Science

Housing: McDonnell Hall

Extracurricular: Pom Squad

Favorite Place In EL: Spartan Stadium

Fun Facts:

-Need MSU merch? Check her closet.

-Her catch phrase is: ”Hold my earrings… and my books please!”

-Starts tailgating at dawn.

Draculaura

Major: Nursing

Housing: Sigma Kappa House

Extracurricular: Fear So Dramatic

Favorite Place in EL: Harper’s 

Fun Facts:

-Owns the Urban Outfitters corset in every color.

-Lip gloss is always in her pocket.

-Has never paid for a drink.

Ghoulia Yelps

Major: Computer Engineering

Housing: East Holmes Hall

Extracurricular: Chemistry Club

Favorite Place In EL: BPS Gardens

Fun Facts:

-Has Narcan on her.

-Leading every lab in the Facility for Rare Isotope Beams.

-Always on the dean’s list.

Lagoona Blue

Major: Fisheries and Wildlife

Housing: Holden Hall

Extracurricular: Aquarium Society 

Favorite Place In EL: Fishbowl Lounge

Fun Facts:

-A regular at Omi Sushi.

-Stays up late on game days to clean up campus.

-Swims in the Red Cedar in her free time.

Spectra Vondergeist

Major: Journalism

Housing: 1855 Place

Extracurricular: President of HCMSU

Favorite Place in EL: Downtown Starbucks (specifically the long table by the door so she can take notes on everyone’s order)

Fun Facts:

-Is listening to everyone’s conversation.

-Secretly running MSU Chicks.

-Shower is stained with purple dye.

With so many ghouls to choose from, this list is narrowed down to mostly the OG cast. Take an extra close look around campus to see if you can spot any of these characters this Halloween!

Sophia Jundy

MSU '26

Sophia Jundy is a senior at Michigan State University. She is working to receive degrees in Public Relations and Journalism, with minors in business and media photography, and a concentration in media relations. She is expected to graduate in Spring 2026.

On campus, Sophia is actively involved in the MSU chapter of PRSSA, serves as secretary for Her Campus MSU, and works as the public relations specialist for VIM Magazine. She is also an intern for MSUToday and manages social media for Chateau Coffee in Okemos, Michigan. Her past experience includes working with the Detroit Free Press, further expanding her skills in both traditional and digital media.

Throughout these roles, Sophia has built a strong foundation in AP-style writing, press kit development, in-depth interviewing, and strategic research. She prides herself on staying plugged into the media landscape, her phone is always buzzing with news alerts, trends, and pop culture moments. With a passion for fashion, music, and the entertainment industry, Sophia plans to channel her storytelling abilities into a career in communications, where creativity and cultural relevance intersect

In 2024, she studied abroad in Rome through MSU’s ADV + PR A La Mediterranean program, earning eight credits at the American University of Rome. As part of that experience, she attended the 2024 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, where she gained first-hand insight into global public relations and began building a professional network on LinkedIn.

Whether she's pitching a campaign or creating a PR package, Sophia brings creativity, color, and intention to everything she does. Her colorful character is reflected in both her professional character and her wardrobe.
