On almost every Mizzou gameday, girls can be seen walking around in pair of cowgirl boots. The choices range from short, tall, black, white, and jeweled to embroidered cowboy boots; they’re an SEC game day staple. But, why?
Cowboy boots have always been worn—especially at SEC schools—but this year, it seems to be all the rage. It’s not just at Mizzou that I’m seeing cowboys; they’re all over my TikTok’s For You Page and on fashion icons like Kendall Jenner and Lily-Rose Depp.
It could be due to the fact that Taylor Swift is re-recording her country albums, or that space cowgirl seemed to be the “it girl” costume this year. Either way, the Fall/Winter 2021 fashion shows prove that cowboy boots are back.
From traditional leather to new metallics and bold colors, the trick is to incorporate this trend into your everyday style. Pair with classic denim, comfy knits, or your favorite dress.
