Destressing During the End of the Semester

At this point in the semester, schoolwork starts to pile up, and it can become very stressful. Having healthy ways to manage that stress and finding things to do to calm your mind can be very helpful during these times. That being said, here are some of my top tips for destressing during the stressful times of the semester.

1: Coloring

Buying a fun coloring book to work on is a super relaxing way to destress after a long day. Pair it with your favorite music or YouTube video to add another layer of fun. Plus, you get to focus your mind on something much less stressful. You can buy super cheap coloring books and supplies at Five Below!

2: Journaling

Not all journaling has to be about the terrible day you had. It’s good to write down your good days too, and you can even take a creative approach to it by adding stickers and fun colors. Pinterest has some really good ideas for things to journal about on days when you feel uninspired. Just fill the page!

3: Calling a friend

Sometimes after a long day, I just want to be alone, but other days I love to call my friends. Calling a friend is always a great way to take my mind off things that are causing me stress. By calling someone, your focus will shift from things causing you anxiety and turn into fun conversations on the phone.

4: Working out

Working out may not be for everyone, but finding a way to exercise and move your body really does help. Even 30 minutes a day can help make you feel better and take your mind off things for a little while. Plus, it will give you the motivation to work on other important things after!

5: Cleaning your room

If you’re like me, it’s hard to get things done when you know your room is a mess. As the week goes on, more and more things pile onto my desk and floor, creating a big mess. Cleaning up this mess will not only make you feel better, but it will also give you a nice space to work on assignments without the clutter distracting you.
