From a fake relationship to chemistry on screen, “The Love Hypothesis” has everyone obsessed with Olive and Adam’s love story.

What starts as a simple fake-dating arrangement quickly turns into so much more when real feelings develop. The relationship between Olive, a bubbly scientist and Adam, a serious professor, demonstrates how opposites can attract, making it much more entertaining to watch. Through awkward conversations, sarcastic chats and undeniable chemistry, viewers are left wondering when they will finally admit how they actually feel.

One of the biggest reasons the movie is so enjoyable is because of the dynamic Olive and Adam have. Olive is outgoing and optimistic whereas Adam is much more intimidating and solemn. Watching their personalities clash creates funny and memorable moments throughout the movie, even when they are arguing or pretending not to care about each other, there is an obvious connection between them.

The fake-dating storyline also gives the movie an element of anticipation. Viewers know that the relationship is meant to be fake but as it becomes harder for Olive and Adam to separate fake feelings from real feelings, viewers are left sitting on the edge of their seat waiting to see what happens next. Every interaction leaves audiences waiting for the moment when the two finally realize what they have been denying themselves from admitting aloud.

However, beyond romance, “The Love Hypothesis” is also filled with humor, friendship, and relatable moments. The movie shows that falling in love does not always happen naturally. Sometimes it might be staged. That is probably why we cannot stop watching Olive and Adam’s story unfold.  Between chemistry, comedy, and the slow-burn romance, “The Love Hypothesis” gives us exactly what we want from a romantic movie: a couple we cannot help but root for.

Manhattan '29

Hey! My name is Clara De Leon and I am from Sparta, NJ. I am currently a sophomore at Manhattan University majoring in Psychology with a focus on Mental Health Counseling/Psychiatry.

I love reading pretty much anything but my favorite genre is definitely romance. I am able to finish a book within a day if I am interested in it. Reading is my favorite past time as I am able to escape the real world and place myself into the characters shoes. Reading also allows me to get some more knowledge on different types of writing. In High school I wrote for my school newspaper, town newspaper, and a sports centered magazine in NJ. I loved learning new things from interviewing people and finding articles that were similar to what I was writing.
