It is three o’clock, you just got home. All you want to do is eat a bag of chips.
Oh no! You don’t have any—But wait!
You have small potatoes in your fridge, so you decide to make some homemade chips. What a great and easy way to satisfy your craving. You pull out the potatoes, preheat the oven, and get your kitchen prepped. Let’s get ready to cook!
What you will need:
- Small bag of potatoes
- Water
- Vinegar
- Seasoning (I would recommend Trader Joe’s Chile Lime and Mrs. Dash Lemon Pepper )
Directions:potato
- Preheat your oven for 420°.
- Get small potatoes out. Wash, then slice them in the shape and thickness you want (The thinner the potatoes are cut, the crispier they will be).
- After the potatoes are all chopped up, put them in a medium sized bowl.
- In the bowl with the potatoes, add three cups of water and two cups of vinegar.
- Let the potatoes soak in the water and vinegar for 30 minutes.
- Dump the water and vinegar out.
- Pour oil and seasoning over the potatoes.
- Throw all the potatoes on a flat baking sheet.
- Put in the oven.
- After 15 minutes, flip the potatoes over with a spatula and let the other side bake for another 15 minutes.
- Take them out of the oven.
- Let the chips cool and enjoy!
*I would also recommend making a chipotle sauce. Definitely a nice touch to your snack.
