5 Ways to Fit Exercise into a Busy Schedule

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Kent State chapter.

With finals just around the corner, our schedules are becoming jam packed. Those daily workout sessions just aren’t happening like they should. But getting in some good exercise is easier than you might think! Here are 5 easy ways to fit exercise into your busy schedule.

1. Skip the Bus: We all know that PARTA isn’t exactly reliable transportation. Instead, try walking to class. The extra exercise will wake you up in the morning and boost your energy before class. And why let this nice weather go to waste?

2. Take the Stairs: This is a quick and easy alternative to the elevator and will tone those legs just in time for the beach!

3. Multitask: On the phone? Do some squats and calf raises while you’re at it. Big test tomorrow? Take your notes to the gym and study while you’re on a stationary bike.

4. Take a Study Break: Studies suggest that taking frequent study breaks can actually help you study more effectively. Take advantage of those study breaks by doing jumping jacks, pushups, burpees, or any other quick exercises you can do in your dorm room.

5. Pencil it in: It’s so much easier to stick to your workout routine when you plan in advance. If you pick a time to work out and plan the rest of your day around it, it becomes much easier to follow through.
