This past year has been full of canceled plans, quarantines, and honestly a whole lot of boredom.  With COVID-19 still lurking around every corner, we have to be careful when it comes to the things we decide to do.  So it’s time to get creative and find ways to stay busy as the weather gets warmer!

Learn to Cook

I have just recently started making myself meals and snacks.  Nothing too fancy, but I am no longer eating pre-made dinners or getting take out from restaurants (well, not as often).  It’s fun and rewarding to try new things and to be able to cook yourself tasty meals on a daily basis.  I have never had the amount of free time I have now to be able to learn how to make things for myself.  If you want to learn to cook or bake, I’d say now is your chance.

Go on a Road Trip

Plan to travel alone or with a couple friends if you have the time.  Make sure you adhere to guidelines anywhere you travel and take advantage of your chance to unplug.  Quality time with friends and family can be a top priority in 2021.  Take in nature and visit the places you’ve always wanted to visit, but remember to always wear your mask (when necessary).

Workout

Up until recently, working out was far from the top of my to-do list.  School and work seemed to take up a lot of my time and working out wasn’t something that really crossed my mind, but I realized that you need to be kind to your body and mind, and working out can be really beneficial.  It can relieve stress, give you that time for yourself, and keep you healthy.  2021 is the year to start working out and loving your body and mind.

Read

Since quarantine started way back in March of 2020, I have read more than I have my entire life.  From magazine articles to entire books, I can’t seem to stop reading.  Now is a great time to read that book you’ve been wanting to but didn’t make or have time to.

Get to Know Yourself Better

Take time away from all the things in your life that cause you stress and give yourself the chance to get to know yourself.  It’s easy to get caught up with all of the things going on around you that you forget to take time for yourself.  Meditate, journal, or just give yourself the chance to breathe and be alone.  It can make a huge difference in your relationship with yourself.
