Top 5 Prettiest Spots on Campus

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Hofstra chapter.

In case you missed it, Hofstra University is a national arboretum and the student body will never let you forget it. In all seriousness, our campus is gorgeous during all the seasons. But since spring has sprung and the temperatures have reached the mid-60s, I’ve put together a list of the prettiest spots on campus for you to gawk at. Feel free to hunker down and study for finals or have a photoshoot at any of these beautiful locations. After all, Hofstra is known for our tulips and there’s plenty to go around. #HofViews

1. Veteran’s Plaza outside Calkins Hall

The gorgeous pink trees perfectly frame the picturesque plaza. Frankly, I was unaware that this area had a special name, but I’m glad that the Hofstra community was able to honor our veterans with such a pretty landscape.

2. Kushner Hall

On your walk past Kushner Hall, be sure to stop and admire the gorgeous flowers. Not only can you get a colorful Instagram pic, but you can also learn about each of the flowers, too!

3. The Path to the Left of Hofstra Hall

If green is your Insta-theme, then be sure to stop by the very secluded path by Hofstra Hall. I can attest that this is a fabulous background for a photoshoot with your friends on those sunny days. If you don’t believe me, check out this shot on my Instagram here!

4. Monroe Hall

The quad outside Monroe Hall will make you feel as if you’ve been transported back to the original days of Hofstra thanks to the antique clock. Who knew that black, green and pink could complement each other so well?

5. Bits & Bytes

You’ll definitely be in need of a snack by the time you’ve visited all of these locations. So stop by Bits & Bytes and take a moment to appreciate the bright flowers. Our secretary, Sarah Hanlon, sure did. Check out her Insta post here!

BONUS: Starbucks!

Have you ever seen anything more beautiful? We all love our coffee and I couldn’t not include it on my list. Out of all the spots on campus, I hit up Starbucks first every day for my daily intake of caffeine. I mean, you gotta be wide awake in order to admire the views, am I right, ladies?
