Lush has made some of my favorite products ever. Their Eau Roma toning water has been in my daily routine for years now and their Celestial moisturizer is one of the newest additions to my routine, but I’m in love with it already.

In case you’re unfamiliar with Lush or their brand, they make amazing organic skincare products and bath bombs, oils and bubble bars. They NEVER test on animals and they even use 100% of the revenue from their Charity Pot lotions to donate to grassroots campaigns against human trafficking and animal welfare. Needless to say, they’re an all-around great company.

That being said, I was blessed with the most sensitive skin on the planet. My daily morning and night routines consist of 90% moisturizers and the most sensitive of acne cream. The face masks I typically lean towards are mostly clay ones with a lot of soothing and cooling properties, and I love a good sheet mask.

Their face masks come in 3 different varieties: fresh, face and body, and jelly masks. The face and body ones are typically self-preserving because they’re loaded with honey, which is great for both your skin and the environment.

The jelly masks are seaweed-based, which gives them a bouncy texture. With these, you have to work it into a paste with your hands before putting it on your face. Both the fresh and face and body masks are clay-based, which makes them perfect for quick application. Also, they’re all vegan, which makes me feel less guilty about using them, so that’s a plus.

When I went to Lush, they were so nice, as the employees usually are. They gave me a crash course on their face masks and even let me have a bunch of free samples to try, but I tested out the top 3 this week.

Don’t Look At Me

This is a fresh face mask, so I had to keep it in the fridge this week. That wasn’t a big deal because the sample containers aren’t too big. However, living with 3 other girls means fridge space is precious, and I’m not sure this one is worthy of that.

I’d buy this just for the color alone. It’s a bright teal, and it’s perfect for a girl’s night. It smells like fruity pebbles, and I was so excited to try it. It contains lemon juice as a toner and murumuru butter to moisturize. However, it also has ground rice as an exfoliator, which was a little harsh on my skin. My skin felt a *little* sensitive after this one, but anyone with normal skin would be able to use this no problem.

On a rating scale, I’d give it a 7/10. It wasn’t totally awful, but personally, I’m scared to put it on my face because I’ll look like a cherry tomato.

Cup O’ Coffee

I have a coffee addiction. I enjoy flavored lattes like anyone else, but most mornings you can catch me around campus drinking straight black coffee. The smell of coffee in the morning truly can’t be beat, which is why this mask is one of my new favorites. Coffee + chocolate = the way to my heart.

It has ground up coffee beans to exfoliate, which isn’t as harsh as you would think it is. I used this mask in the morning after I woke up and before I had to get ready to go to class, which was a great start to my morning. I put it in the fridge the night before so that it was a little cold when I put it on, which woke me up even more.

After leaving on for 15 minutes and rinsing off with warm water, my skin was glowing. I felt so good for the rest of the day, and my roommates even noticed my skin looked so much brighter than usual.

I give this mask a 9/10. I knocked a point off because it kind of looks like I spread a bunch of dirt on my face, but it’s honestly worth it if it makes my skin look amazing. I still just have to be fair (kind of).

Mask of Magnaminty

I was scared to try this mask. It’s a face and body mask, like Cup O’ Coffee, but it smells EXTREMELY like mint. Don’t get me wrong, I love mint. But it’s also one of those things that usually make my face gross when used in a mask.

This mask contains aduki beans as an exfoliator and vanilla to calm redness. This mask is AMAZING. It wasn’t too harsh on my skin, and I was surprised to find out it was cooling, but it didn’t burn.

It’s a fun green color, which is perfect for face mask mirror pics. Everyone knows the only thing that’s more fun than doing a face mask is telling everyone you’re doing a face mask. This is a classic face mask.

I give it a 10/10. My face was ridiculously soft afterward, and it surprised me in all the right ways.

Out of all of these Lush masks, I would buy Cup O’ Coffee or Mask of Magnaminty any day. They’re both great for sensitive skin and are great for different reasons. If I had to pick, I’d probably go with Mask of Magnaminty. It was the most fun to put on and when it dried after 15 minutes it didn’t make my face super stiff like most masks do. It was the perfect mask.
