11 Halloween Treats You Can Make in Your Dorm Room

Halloween is just around the corner and everyone is ready to get their scare on and to play some tricks, but you can’t forget the treats! Here are 11 sweets and snacks that you can make in your dorm room for your perfect ghouls night in!

 

Candy Corn Fruit Cup

Ingredients

  • Clear Plastic Cups

  • Chopped Pineapples

  • Oranges or Clementines

  • Whipped Cream

    Steps

  1. Place the chopped pineapple at the bottom of the cup, creating a bottom layer filling the cup ⅓ of the way

  2. Peel the oranges and separate all of the pieces

  3. Place the pieces on top of the pineapple layer, creating a second layer that fills the cup another third

  4. Top the layers of fruit with whipped cream

Ghost Bananas and Orange Pumpkins

Orange Pumpkins

Ingredients

  • Oranges

  • Celery

    Steps

  1. Peel the orange without separating any of the pieces

  2. Cut off a small piece of celery

  3. Stick the piece of celery into the top of the orange to create a stem

Banana Ghosts

    Ingredients

  • Bananas

  • Chocolate Frosting/Melted chocolate

Steps

  1. Peel the banana and cut in half, cut off more from the end so that the bottom edge is flat

  2. Place two dollops of frosting/melted chocolate next to each other toward the top of the banana to create the eyes and another slightly larger in between beneath the first two to create the mouth

Mini Pizza Mummies 

Ingredients

  • English Muffins

  • Pizza Sauce

  • Sliced Mozzarella Cheese

  • Sliced Olives

    Steps

  1. Separate the two halves of the English muffin

  2. Spread the pizza sauce on the entire surface of the inside of the English muffin

  3. Lay slices of the mozzarella cheese on top of the sauce, all facing in the same orientation

  4. Place two sliced olives on top of the cheese close together towards the top of the English muffin

  5. Cook the English muffin in a toaster oven for around four minutes, or until the cheese melts

Oreo Eyeballs

Ingredients

  • Oreos

  • White Chocolate + Food Coloring OR Lifesavers

  • Milk Chocolate Chips

  • Red Gel Icing

    Steps

  1. Separate the end of the Oreo cookies, discarding the side without any cream left on it

  2. Drizzle the red gel icing from the cookie in zig-zag lines from the center of the cookie to the outside

  3. Place the lifesaver on top of the cream in the center of the cookie OR mix food coloring into melted white chocolate to create the color that you want, wait for the melted chocolate to slightly cool until it is solidified enough for it to stay together but stays malleable and create a circular disk of the chocolate to place on top of the cream in the center of the cookie

  4. Place a chocolate chip in the hole of the lifesaver, OR push the chocolate chip into the center of the chocolate disk

Ice Cream Cone Witches’ Hat

Ingredients

  • Oreos

  • Ice Cream Sugar Cones

  • Chocolate Chips

  • Chocolate Frosting

  • Optional: Airheads Xtreme

Steps

  1. Separate the two sides of the Oreo, discarding the side with cream left on it

  2. Break off the bottom of the cone to where the base would be smaller than the Oreo

  3. Place chocolate chips in a bowl in the microwave for 45 seconds and mix until thoroughly melted

  4. Spread a thick layer of melted chocolate on the surface of the Oreo

  5. Place the cone on the Oreo, base face down, letting the cone sink into the chocolate

  6. Let the chocolate cool until it solidifies, keeping the cone in place

  7. Spread frosting over the entirety of the cone and the face-up surface of the Oreo (Can use any color that you feel represents witches hats!)

  8. Optional: Cut the Airheads Xtreme into thin strips, separating the colors

  9. Wrap the strips around the base of the cone

Oreo Spiders

    Ingredients   

  • Oreos

  • Licorice Twizzlers

    Steps

  1. Cut the Twizzlers in half down the long way

  2. Cut eight pieces about an inch long

  3. Separate the ends of an Oreo

  4. Place the pieces of Twizzlers on top of the cream in the Oreo, in sets of four across from each other

  5. Put the other side of the Oreo back on top, closing the Oreo

Jack O’Lantern Orange Pudding Cups

Ingredients

  • Oranges

  • Chocolate Pudding

  • Sharpie

    Steps

  1. Cut off the top of an orange

  2. Spoon out the contents of the orange, leaving the rest of the peel intact

  3. Draw the face of the Jack O’ Lantern on the outside of the orange peel, be as creative as you want!

  4. Pour the chocolate pudding into the hollowed out area inside the orange peel

Full Moon & Graveyard Pudding Cups

Ingredients

  • Clear Cups

  • Ziplock Bag

  • Tooth Pick

  • Chocolate Pudding (can be made from scratch, but pre-made pudding works too!)

  • Oreos

  • Vienna Finger Cookies

  • White Chocolate Chips

  • Milk Chocolate Chips

  • Red, Yellow and Green food coloring

    Steps for Graveyard Pudding Cup

  1. Fill ¾ of a clear cup with chocolate pudding

  2. Separate the ends of the Oreo cookies and remove the cream, and then place them into a Ziplock bag

  3. Crush the Oreos until the cookies are broken into tiny pieces

  4. Pour the crushed Oreos on top of the pudding until the pudding is completely covered

  5. Put chocolate chips in a bowl and microwave for 45 seconds, and mix until thoroughly melted

  6. Separate the ends of the Vienna finger cookies and discard the side with cream left on it

  7. Take a toothpick dipped in the melted chocolate and write RIP on the inside side of the Vienna cookie

  8. Stick the Vienna cookie halfway into the pudding leaving the portion with RIP written on it above the surface

    Steps for Full Moon Pudding Cup

  1. Repeat previous steps 1-4

  2. Put white chocolate chips in a bowl and microwave for 45 seconds, and mix until thoroughly melted

  3. Separate the white chocolate into two bowls

  4. Mix in yellow and red food coloring in a 2 to 1 ratio into one bowl of white chocolate until you reach the shade of orange you desire

  5. Mix in green food coloring into the other bowl until you reach the shade of green you desire

  6. Wait for the melted chocolate to slightly cool until it is solidified enough for it to stay together but stays malleable

  7. Roll a small portion of the orange chocolate into a ball to make the shape of a pumpkin, and add a tiny cylinder of the green chocolate on top of the orange to create a steam

  8. Repeat until you have made as many pumpkins as you desire

  9. Place the pumpkins of the surface of the Oreos

  10. Re-microwave the green chocolate and drizzle over the Oreos to create vines if you want!

Donut Spiders

Donut Spiders

    Ingredients

  1. Mini Chocolate Donuts

  2. Classic-Shaped Large Pretzels

  3. M&Ms + Frosting OR Food Coloring + Frosting OR Food Coloring + White Chocolate

    Steps

  1. Break the pretzels keeping the hook-shaped pieces

  2. Push four of the pieces into the donut on each side, with the hooks facing down

  3. Place the two dollops of frosting in the middle of the space between the sets of pretzels and place an M&M on each OR mix food coloring into frosting to create the color that you want and place a dollop of frosting  in the middle of the space between the sets of pretzels OR mix food coloring into melted white chocolate to create the color that you want and place a dollop of frosting  in the middle of the space between the sets of pretzels
