The concept of Valentine’s Day being reserved for lovers only is obscene, as it seems to devaluate the happiness of those whose relationship status does not include another person, and also leaves out those, who for one reason or another are spending the day alone.

However, if I just described your current situation above: You are not alone with the feeling of being left out and you should make the day yours instead! Or share it with your friends and family for some quality time together.

After all, being in a relationship should not be one of the core values in life, although that idea has been forced into our heads by the society. Instead, our top priorities should be health, the ability to love and to be loved, the possibility to create and fulfil your dreams and the right to be happy! I also want to remind you that love manifests in many forms, not only in the romantical one. In one way or another, we are all trying to push ourselves towards the goal of being happy, although happiness can be found everywhere. Everything you need to have to be happy is yourself, and the love and the appreciation for all that you have right now. It is true that you might come across your significant other later in your life, but at the end, they won’t be able to make you any happier than you, yourself, can make.

If all your friends already have plans with their dates, you can dedicate this day to pampering yourself and getting as cozy as possible, right?

This is the time to relax, to decorate the room with some candles, pour yourself a bath or a feet bath and spoil yourself with a facemask that you can easily put together with what you can find from your fridge, for example this one:

Yoghurt-honey facemask for cleaner skin:

3 tablespoons of any natural plain dairy yoghurt

1 teaspoon of honey

1 teaspoon of olive oil

Wash your face with cleaning products and remove all the makeup. Then combine all the ingredients and your face mask is ready! Enjoy the mask for 10-15 minutes.

Avocado mask for more nourished skin:

Half an avocado

1 tablespoon of honey

A handful of oats

Mash the avocado, add the honey and oats and mix it with a spoon. Enjoy the mask for 10-15 minutes.

Make sure to enjoy the day with the most important person of your life, you!

Also remember that you will have to love and take care of yourself to be able to love others.
