With spring break quickly approaching many stores are beginning to advertise cute little bikinis and vacations with your friends are being planned. Let’s be honest these winter months have been filled with holiday dinners and late night snacking, and that’s okay! There is still time to shed a few pounds and get that body spring break ready! Funny thing is that most people think running to the gym is the first answer. Though working out will defiantly help, there are other ways you can drop those pounds and live a healthy lifestyle.

1.    Get motivated and STAY motivated

Many times we will start a work out plan/regimen and give up half way through due to getting discouraged or just not having the time. Try getting a workout partner who will help you stay dedicated and encourage you through this process.

2.    Incorporate more veggies in your diet

Vegetables are high in fiber and low in calories. By providing the body with nutrients, veggies help burn off fat quickly and efficiently.

3.    Try to stay stress free

Believe it or not stress has a large effect on our health and how we gain weight. Find something that will allow you to relax. Read a good book or maybe go shopping just do something to help those stress levels go down.

4.    Try to cut down on sugary and fatty foods

Though those Pattie Pies were great for Thanksgiving and grandma’s stuffing and gravy was delicious, watching your intake of the amount of sugar and fat you consume it can have a large effect on your health and your weight

5.    Detox! Detox! Detox!

Though many people look at this as just a diet trend, detoxing can help eliminate toxins from your body while raising your energy levels. This is great to use while on a work out plan, and it simple to make with just a few household items. Water, a few lemons, and your choice of fruits and veggies, just that simple!
