Midterms are a stressful time filled with cramming and Starbucks runs. Here are some basic emotions that every college student feels during midterms.

1. Every 5 minutes is break time

You’ve spent a whole 5 minutes working hard (or staring at all your open tabs), so now it’s time to go back to binge watching your favorite show on Netflix and scrolling down Instagram.

2. What even is sleep?

Sleep? You don’t even know what that is anymore. It happens so rare these days!

3. You’ve seriously considered dropping out

Even though you never actually would (because your parents would literally kill you) it doesn’t hurt to think about it. Then again, would it really be so bad? People can be successful without a college degree?

4. That feeling of pure doom

No matter how long you procrastinate, your mind is always on all the papers and tests due…that you haven’t even started.

5. Stress is the only emotion you experience

Your stress levels have gone from zero to one thousand at this point.

6. “A for Effort” becomes your motto

I mean, you really did try, right? After several all-nighters and last minute study sessions, you’re just glad that you made it.

7. You always need food

Food is the only think keeping you going during midterms. Whether its pizza at 2 am or cereal for dinner, anything goes during these hard times!

8. You realize studying is a life skill you have yet to master

What even is studying? You try over and over but it just isn’t your thing.

9. You can’t wait for the week to be over

…and then you do it all over again next semester.
