Great magicians have remarkable tricks. However, every trick maintains one fundamental truth. Remain confident and act like the illusion is in fact reality. In other words, fake it until you make it. Sound familiar?

Oftentimes, we are swept up in whatever fantasy and false promises are sold to us. We fall into a talking stage that is without any real direction and wonder why we are still single. Don’t fret. That was your last unintentional talking stage. Well, if you follow my advice below!

The talking stage does not have to be a complete waste. If you use the time properly, you can avoid spending hours pining over a guy that only hits you up at 2 in the morning. Ladies, you know why he’s hitting you up at 2 in the morning. If you want something worthwhile you have to stop accepting mediocre attempts from people that don’t deserve a second text back from you. My advice is to ask effective questions upfront in regards to intention and take passive reciprocation as a sign to move on.

It can be hard to accept the answers you receive when it’s not exactly what you were expecting to hear. Keep in mind that you are indeed the catch and you aren’t losing anything from ending a conversation with a guy that only wants to use you when it’s convenient. In fact, you are gaining time. And I don’t know about you, but my time is everything to me. It may appear to be rejection at the time but it’s actually a push to your future knight and shining armor. I prefer a knight over a magician with outdated tricks.

The show is over. It was fun at first but it’s time we clean up this mess and move onto something greater. Something that’s really worthwhile. Don’t be afraid to ask and lay out your expectations. If you do this early, it will erase a lot of the pain you may experience later. Remember to be open and respect the response you receive. Everything happens for a reason and you will be better off knowing the truth.
