The Wings, the Blowouts, the Glitter: What I Want From This Year’s VS Fashion Show

There are fashion shows, and then there’s the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. The iconic wings, glittery runways and gorgeous models make it like no other. And with the 2026 show coming up on October 18th, I already know I’ll be tuning in.

I watched last year’s show, and one of my favorite things about it was seeing classic models like Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Candice Swanepoel, Bella Hadid, Gigi Hadid, and Jasmine Tookes back on the runway. I also loved seeing newer faces like Alex Consani, Anok Yai, Barbie Ferreira, Quenlin Blackwell, Suni Lee, and Gabriela Moura. I enjoyed last year’s show, but many people online were asking for the “old Victoria’s Secret” back and I definitely understand why.

Bring Back the Glitter!

Older VS Fashion Shows were all about the glitter-covered runways, big bouncy blowouts, dramatic wings, and models who looked like they were having the time of their lives. Older shows had this energy that made them so fun to watch. The models were smiling, blowing kisses, interacting with the performers, and showing off their personalities.

And can we PLEASE bring back the big blowouts? Sleek hairstyles are gorgeous in their own way, but voluminous, bouncy hair screamVictoria’s Secret . The hair, glittery makeup and dramatic outfits made the show and the girls feel so glamorous.

Of course, we can’t talk about Victoria’s Secret without talking about the wings. The wings are the most iconic part of the entire show. In previous shows, each pair of wings were bigger than the next and they were all extremely unique and matched the look and personality of the model. Personally, I hope this year’s show goes all out and brings back that old VS feel.

The Models I’m Most Excited to See

When I think of Victoria’s Secret, I think of models like Gisele Bündchen, Adriana Lima, and Candice Swanepoel and finding out that Adriana and Candice are returning for the 2026 show makes me even more excited.

I love that Victoria’s Secret has been bringing back the original Angels from its earlier shows while also introducing newer faces. I’m also excited to see Gigi Hadid, Anok Yai, Imaan Hammam, Ashley Graham, and Alex Consani. I think having such a mix of models is one of the things that makes the newer shows interesting. I would love to see the newer models have their own iconic moments like the original Angels.

The Performances Might Be My Favorite Part

One thing about the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is that the music is almost as important as the fashion. Some of my favorite moments from last year’s show were the performances, especially from artists like Madison Beer and Karol G. Their music and vibe matched the show perfectly and their outfits and glam were amazing as well.

This year’s lineup includes Megan Thee Stallion, Tate McRae, KATSEYE, and Megan Moroney, and I’m especially excited for Megan and Tate. I feel like Megan Thee Stallion is such a perfect choice for the Victoria’s Secret show. So much of her music is about female empowerment, confidence, and feeling comfortable in your own skin which fits the newer message of Victoria’s Secret. Tate McRae has immaculate stage presence, and every song she releases is a hit. I think her dancing, music, and performance style will bring an exciting energy to the show. I also can’t wait to see their outfits! I know they will all look amazing and serve both vocals and looks.

Want the Old VS Magic, Not the Old Beauty Standards

Now, when I say I want the old Victoria’s Secret back, I definitely don’t mean everything about it. As much as people romanticize the older shows, it’s important to remember that Victoria’s Secret received a lot of criticism for promoting unrealistic beauty standards, and former models have spoken about the pressure they faced to maintain certain body types. I appreciate that the newer shows have featured a wider range of models and body types. I don’t think Victoria’s Secret needs to sacrifice that progress just to make the show feel nostalgic. The fashion show should be a celebration of women, fashion, music, and confidence.

So, Will We Get the Old VS Back?

I guess we’ll have to wait and see! I’m excited for the models, the performances, the outfits, and especially the wings. I’m also looking forward to seeing what everyone online thinks of the show afterwards. I hope it brings back some of the things that made those shows so memorable in the first place.

My interests have been focused on combining business, creativity, and communications, leading me to participate in various activities through both high school and college. Currently, at Mason, I am a member of Mason Consulting Group, serving as an Associate Consultant, where I am gaining experience in consulting for a real-life company as a part of a team. Prior to coming to college, I have been a member of DECA, where I managed the social media and marketing of my high school’s girls flag football team.

As a contributor to Her Campus at George Mason University, my primary focus will be on writing on entertainment, health & wellness, college life and the experience of being a college student. As a Freshman and commuter student, I am still learning about college experience myself which is why I am so excited to be a part of HerCampus.

Outside of school, I like watching movies and TV shows, following current pop culture, hanging out with my family and friends, and exploring methods to add wellness to my lifestyle. Ever since I watched the movie "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days," I have always wanted an opportunity to write on subjects that I feel passionate about just like Andie Anderson did. On Her Campus, I am looking forward to developing my voice as a writer and exploring the subjects that I enjoy.
