I’ll be honest, I don’t have great skin. I break out, I have acne scars, I can get pretty oily in the summer and incredibly dry in the winter. I used to hate my skin because it was downright unmanageable. There’s a ton of factors to consider when dealing with the health of your skin and everyone is different. I don’t pay much attention to the “type of skin” concept, because my skin isn’t just one type — it depends on the season, my diet, my exercise routine and more. Different moisturizers are meant for different things, but the main reason I don’t stick to one is because if I do, it stops working after a few months and my skin winds up worse off. By using these three different products for different purposes throughout my day, I can keep my favorite moisturizers for as long as I want.

OLAY Complete Lotion All Day Moisturizer with SPF 15 for Normal Skin, $13.49

I’ve been using this moisturizer for the past three or four years. Meant for sensitive skin with Broad Spectrum SPF 15, it’s perfect for your day to day routine. It includes antioxidants such as vitamins E, B3 and C to condition your skin. I use this in the morning on my face, neck and chest because it also gives me some sun protection. The bottle is larger than I typically see for moisturizers, so it easily lasts me four to five months.

PACIFICA, Dreamy Youth Day and Night Face Cream, $16

Pacifica is my absolute favorite brand. The beauty company is cruelty free and vegan, with a wide variety of products. I picked up their Day and Night Face Cream moisturizer at Target after I had a really good experience with their face washes. The first time I used it, my skin burned – but seeing as I have very sensitive skin, I still had hope. After a week or two, my skin adjusted to the new product and now I use it every night before I go to sleep. It’s an affordable price and lasts a long time since I only use a small dollop once a day.

BLISS, Drench & Quench, $20

This Cream-to-Water Hydration seems to be the perfect balance of not making my skin oily and not being too dry. I’ve found this moisturizer is particularly good for wearing a full face of makeup and keeps you moisturized for the whole night. It’s not oily, it’s lightweight on your skin and super soft. Bliss incorporates “more than 10,000 marine micro-droplets for intense, yet weightless, all-day hydration” into the product. I use this after washing my face, but before doing my makeup for a night out. It’s the most expensive, but I don’t use it as often so in the long run it’s cost-friendly.

If you’re looking to treat your skin well this winter, pick up one (or all) of my favorite moisturizers online or in stores. And can everyone email Pacifica and ask them to sponsor me? ;)
