Throughout college, we all experience different teaching styles, syllabi structures and, of course, professors.Â
1. Heavy Workload Professor
This kind of professor is the one that immediately starts intense notetaking the very first day. Not only this, but theyâll start listing off all the homework assignments that are due the next class. The amount of homework this professor assigns will only get worse after time.
2. The âIâm Always Rightâ Professor
This type of professor comes in two variations; the nice know-it-all and the rude know-it-all. Whichever one, this professor is extremely knowledgeable in their field. However, they are not always open to suggestions or new ideas students might have.
3. The Mom Professor
This type of professor is the one that will maintain your sanity. They will do insanely nice things like bring snacks for your class. If you have an early class they might even bring coffee to help you wake up. This professor will do anything in their power to make sure you succeed. Treasure this professor because they donât come along too often.
4. The Ditzy Professor
This type of professor is really sweet and a little out there. This causes them to get taken advantage of by some students. Students will make excuses as to why they didnât do the homework and convince the professor to give everyone Aâs. This then causes people to feel bad that the professor is not recognizing theyâre being pushed around.

5. âOne of the Studentsâ Professor
Besides the âMom Professorâ, this is the second best professor. This professor keeps it real and doesnât overload you on homework because they remember what college was like. They do not grade you harshly because they knew you were probably busy doing other homework for harsher professors. Simply, they donât care as long as you come on test day.â Via Giphy
Iâve had at least one of each of these professors and Iâm glad I did, even the crazy and mean ones. They forced me to be realistic for life out of college. Once you graduate, not every employer or coworker is going to be the âmomâ, unfortunately. Whichever professor you come across, treat each one with the utmost respect and try your best because at the end of the day youâll know you tried your best.
