With eight official studio albums, five GRAMMY Award wins, and 55 GRAMMY Award nominations, Aubrey Drake Graham is one of the most popular, decorated rappers of our generation.

Drake is known for his flair for the dramatic, catalyzing an entire wave of meme culture surrounding his demeanor. This is why it’s no surprise that he’s made quite the show of teasing his newest studio album, ICEMAN.

Drake began promoting ICEMAN as early as July 2025 by launching a series of “episodes” on his YouTube channel featuring clips of warehouses, his performances, and snippets of new music. This series spanned until November 2025 when he released the final episode

While his YouTube series alone piqued the interest of fans worldwide, Drake also teased ICEMAN heavily on his Instagram page. In doing this, he created a collection of acrostic poems stemming from the word “iceman” itself. These poems, all released on April 22, highlight phrases that may or may not be present in his new album release.

In his first poem, “When I call your bluff, make sure you answer me on that first ring,” fans have speculated as to whether this is just classic Drake, cryptic and poetic, or if these may be lyrics from songs on ICEMAN.

Beyond digital advertisements for his new album, Drake has taken his promotions to the next level. Drake’s fashion brand, October’s Very Own, collaborated with Marvel Studios to launch a line of flashy clothing. Drake and Marvel curated a line of shirts, hoodies, headwear, socks, and even skateboard decks featuring superheroes and villains like Wolverine and Venom. This led fans to theorize as to why Drake failed to include the Iceman character.

This speculation only drew more attention to the anticipated album release. Following all of this, Drake launched what is expected to be his final promotion for ICEMAN.

In April 2026, Drake’s team installed a 25-foot sculpture of ice blocks that contained the long-awaited album release date at the center. Fans everywhere flocked to the Toronto, Canada, parking lot that housed this sculpture.

With flamethrowers, pickaxes, sledgehammers, and more in tow, fans worked tirelessly to break through the ice to find the album’s release date.

A release date for Drake’s much-anticipated album “Iceman” appears to have been retrieved from his towering ice installation in Toronto. Streamer Kishka was among a swarm of fans attempting to crack the mystery after Drake suggested the project’s release date was buried somewhere within the structure. On Tuesday, the Toronto-based content creator livestreamed himself climbing to the top of the installation, where he retrieved a blue bag stamped with the phrase: “Freeze the world.” He then opened the bag on the stream, showing a booklet with a date inside: May 15. On Monday, Drake took to Instagram to share images of the glacial installation along with its downtown co-ordinates. He captioned it, “Release date inside.” People soon descended on the structure, capturing photos and videos while trading theories about when the ice might melt. But things eventually grew more chaotic around the site, with some ignoring signs that warned visitors to keep off the ice blocks. Toronto police said they were called to the location Monday night as people were climbing the structure and breaking off chunks with tools. Drake has been teasing the album for some time. It will be his first solo effort since his feud with Kendrick Lamar, which peaked in the spring of 2024 with the latter’s diss track “Not Like Us.” #Drake #IceMan #Toronto #Music

This uproar was so huge that it actually called for police intervention. Despite this, fans were able to melt the ice and capture the release date in less than two days, only to find that May 15 would be the date to anticipate.

ICEMAN’s album promotion marks one of the most creative and interactive rollouts of our time. Drake is truly bringing back good old-fashioned kitschy fun in the music industry. Less than two weeks away from the most anticipated rap album of the summer, fans everywhere are left on the edge of their seats.

Drake never fails to release albums with legendary features, clever lyricism, and iconic beats. For me, ICEMAN may just be my soundtrack to summer 2026. Drake’s hit song “NOKIA” took summer 2025 by storm, and like many other fans, I’m eager to watch him outdo himself again.

Drake is one of the few popular artists who consistently drops albums without long waits in between, and he never fails to produce classics. In the midst of this hot summer, ICEMAN is on the way to save us all!
