What Your Favorite On-Campus Dining Spot Says About You

There are few things more important to a college student than figuring out what to eat. Between classes, exams, and trying to have some semblance of a social life, food is one of the few things we can count on. At FSU, everyone has their go-to spot, whether it’s a quick bite between classes or a meal with friends after a long day. However, have you ever stopped to think about what your favorite dining spot says about you? Probably not, but keep reading to find out what I think it does.

Suwannee Room

You’re a social butterfly, and you probably know at least five people every time you walk through the door. Going to Suwannee is never just about eating. It’s about catching up with friends, seeing who’s around, and somehow spending twice as long there as you planned. You’re also the type of person who would go study at Strozier Libraries to be facey.

Seminole Café

You’re a creature of habit, and there’s nothing wrong with that. You probably live in Salley Hall, and you know what you like. You’re not interested in risking a disappointing meal just because something new caught your eye.

Chick-fil-A

You’re a little basic, but who isn’t? You could have 20 different dining options, and somehow Chick-fil-A still sounds best. You’ve practically memorized your order, and you probably have a strong opinion about the sauce situation. Why fix something that isn’t broken?

Einstein Bros. Bagels

You’re trying to convince yourself that you’re a morning person. Whether you’re heading to an early class or grabbing breakfast before a long day, a bagel and a drink are your version of “having it together.”

Panda Express

Orange chicken is your love language. You’re not interested in pretending that your favorite meal needs to be anything more complicated than chicken and rice. You’re also the friend who offers someone a bite to be polite but deep down doesn’t want to share.

Panera Bread

You’re either a wellness girly, or you’re really feeling the fall aesthetic. You probably have a favorite soup-and-sandwich combination and convince yourself that eating healthy reverses everything else you’ve done that week. You appreciate a little routine, and Panera is your safe space when you can’t decide what you’re craving.

Pollo Tropical

You know how to get your money’s worth. You want a meal that actually fills you up, and you probably have your order figured out down to the last side. You’re practical, but that doesn’t mean you don’t appreciate good food. You just aren’t spending your college budget on a meal that leaves you hungry an hour later.

Brooklyn Pizza

You’re the friend everyone loves because choosing where to eat with you is never difficult. Pizza is always a good idea, and you don’t understand why anyone would argue otherwise. Whether it’s a quick lunch or a late-day craving, you know a good slice can make almost any situation better.

Subway

You’re particular, and you know it. You have your sandwich order memorized, and watching someone put the wrong ingredients on it might genuinely ruin your day. You like things a certain way, and you aren’t going to apologize for having standards.

Halal Shack

You have your go-to order, and you’re probably recommending it to everyone you know. You’re the friend who makes all your friends try something new when you go out to eat.

Vato Tacos at 1851

You’re fun, spontaneous, and always down for tacos. You believe that a good meal can fix a bad day, a stressful exam week, or an embarrassing text you probably shouldn’t have sent. You might not have your entire life figured out, but at least you know what you’re having for lunch.

Tally Mac Shack at 1851

You believe comfort food deserves its own love language. You’re not looking for a perfectly balanced meal. Sometimes you just want something cheesy, filling, and delicious, and you’re not letting anyone make you feel bad about it. College is stressful enough without judging yourself over lunch.

Bento Sushi at 1851

You have your life together, or at least that’s what you want everyone to think. You’re open to different options and enjoy switching things up instead of eating the same meal every day. You’re probably the friend who has a planner, keeps track of assignments, and is, deep down, a teacher’s pet.

Joe Mama’s at 1851

You’re all about the little things. You appreciate a good meal, a long conversation, and having an excuse to spend time with your friends between classes. You don’t need an elaborate plan to have a good day. Sometimes all it takes is finding somewhere to eat and catch up.

The Den

You love the classics. You appreciate familiar favorites and aren’t particularly interested in making every meal an adventure. You’re definitely a movie rewatcher and an outfit repeater, and to be honest, me too!

Shake Smart

My personal favorite. These shakes make any bad day better. I spent all summer craving one, and if that makes me weird, so be it. You’re probably entering your winter arc, and your friends have definitely heard about it. You have a workout split, a favorite protein shake, and a goal you’re determined to reach. Whether you’re heading to the gym after class or just trying to get more protein into your diet, you’re committed to the routine.

4 Rivers Smokehouse

You take your food seriously. You’re not interested in leaving a meal hungry, and you appreciate something hearty after a long day. You’re probably the friend who always has restaurant recommendations ready, and you firmly believe that a good meal is worth looking forward to.

Proof at FSU

You like having options and aren’t afraid to try something different. Also, you might be looking forward to your twenty-first birthday (if you know, you know). You either come here religiously or have gone before an event at Club Downunder (CDU).

Argo Tea

You’re a little different, maybe a bit performative, and you like it that way. You’re not necessarily interested in following everyone else’s routine, and you appreciate having something different to order.

At the end of the day, your favorite dining spot might not reveal your entire personality, but it can certainly give your friends a little more ammunition to make fun of you. Whether you’re loyal to your usual order or constantly trying something new, we all have that one place we keep coming back to!
