For me it can be really hard to find motivation to go to the gym, especially in the winter. The cold months definitely make it difficult to get out of bed, and when you’re at school and have to walk in the snow it just does sound appealing. Trust me, I get it. Here are some ways I stay motivated to go to the gym.

Plan workouts ahead of time

In the moment sometimes it’s hard to decide what you want to work on or come up with a full workout, especially if you have a small amount of time. It can be helpful to make weekly workout plans, maybe sit down each Sunday and make one. There’s so much stuff online that can help you create plans too!

Cute workout clothes

This is obviously my favorite part – shopping for cute workout clothes :) My favorite brands are Lululemon and Gymshark, they always fit comfortably and they are long lasting/durable. Looking good helps me feel good, and motivates me to kick myself into the gym so I can keep looking good in my lulus.

Create a schedule time that works for you

Figure out what time of the day works best for you, and when you’ll have the most time and energy. Make that your scheduled gym time everyday. Once it becomes a habit, you will be consistent.

Set realistic goals

This can be hard because I know you’re looking at all the instagram fitness models and feeling like if you go to the gym for a couple weeks you’ll look the same. Those kinds of results take years. It’s important to set realistic goals for yourself. If you’re just beginning to go to the gym start by going 2-3 times a week, and use light weight. Just keep working up each week you go. Listen to your body and how you feel to decide what is best and most realistic for you.

Make a dope playlist that makes you want to go as soon as you start listening

This is a really fun part of working out! I have a few different playlists I use depending on my mood. Just get some bangers in there that will get you going and motivated.
