What To Treat Yourself To This Valentine’s Day

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Emory chapter.

With Valentine’s Day around the corner, the yearly media assault of couple-y pressures or forever alone images begins.  However, Valentine’s Day is more than capable of standing not as a pillar of romanticism but rather a dedication to treating yourself.  This year, here’s some little things you can do to pamper yourself – you deserve it.

1. Send Yourself Sprinkles

Sprinkles cupcakes are not only always delicious, but beautifully themed.  I wouldn’t expect the renowned cupcake chain to have anything less than a perfectly curated Valentine’s day box, and they do not let down.  A mix of red velvet, raspberry chocolate chip, dark chocolate, and vanilla, with hearts or a cute X and O, there’s something for everyone.

2. Get Your Nails Done

There’s nothing more traditionally pampering than a good Mani-Pedi.  One of the easiest ways for self-care, sit back, relax, and let your nails be painted to perfection.  Not only will your cuticles thank you, but it’s one more thing to cross of your beautification to-do list, making it a productive task as well.

3. Get a Blow Out

New to the blow out train, few things feel better than having someone else wash and professionally do your hair.  Sometimes it feels good to do something completely unnecessary, and a random Wednesday night blow out is definitely one of those things.  It’ll give you a boost of confidence going into the weekend though, which is always valuable.

4. Do Yoga

While yoga may not be everyone’s thing, the relaxing properties are undeniable.  Even if you can’t touch your toes, a little flexibility exercise will boost your endorphins and calm your mind.  Yoga can also be practiced anywhere – from a heated class to your dorm room – making it an easily accessible activity.

5. Pour the Red Wine and Play a RomCom

This is a classic combination for a reason.  While this may be the most quintessential lonely girl Valentine’s Day activity, reclaim it as the self-love activity it’s meant to be.  Settle in and appreciate yourself as you watch Leonardo DiCaprio do something attractive.

While this list is a great start, really any activity that makes you feel good will do.  Have fun reclaiming Valentines Day this year!
