That is right! Her Campus is back at Elon University for 2021! Starting Spring semester, a new executive board is ready to relaunch Elon’s Her Campus chapter and get the student body involved and excited!
I am a part of Her Campus Elon’s Executive Board as the Senior Editor. My team and I have spent so much time working on Her Campus’ relaunch. We have worked together to gather a strong team, find dedicated and amazing writers, and plan fun events! I am eager to share all of this with you!
I am here to tell you about Her Campus’ history, our Executive roles on campus, and what we are looking forward to this Spring semester! Her Campus started back in 2009 when three Harvard undergraduates wanted to create a magazine that they thought was missing for college women: an online platform, written by and focusing on empowering all women. Thus, Her Campus was formed!
Now, Her Campus is the No. 1 media site for college women written by the best college journalists! Her Campus has over 360+ chapters from 11 countries. My team and I could not be more proud to stand with such an incredible magazine and fellow group of women. Her Campus is EVERYWHERE. Seriously. You can find us with the InfluenceHer Collective with 4,000 millennial influencers, Her Conference®, College Fashion Week®, High School Ambassador Program, Campus Trendsetters, Her Campus Shop, and read The Her Campus Guide to College Life. Our magazine has a range of topics accessible with just a click of a finger. We will write about anything you are interested in: from skincare tips, to top TikTok trends, to famous memes, to politics and more! As Her Campus leaders on Elon University’s campus, we uphold Her Campus’ values inside and outside the classroom. We have all been assigned different roles to help with the relaunch and each woman on our team is creative, confident, passionate and amazing (I love them all!). Role: President
Description: Handles all of the business- and management-related aspects of your chapter. She supervises the Events, Publicity and Social Media teams and ensures all social media requirements are met.
Why did you join Her Campus Elon? “Being a female college student, I was instantly intrigued when I heard that Her Campus was working on a relaunch at Elon. Last year I worked with Bumble as their Campus Director. That experience helped me appreciate the importance of empowering our female peers on campus. Her Campus serves as an excellent outlet for female college students, to encourage, empower and connect with each other. I am so grateful for this opportunity to lead and work with an amazing group of strong women!”
Role: Editor-In-Chief
Description: Edits and fact-checks all chapter content. She is responsible for approving the editorial calendar weekly and ensuring national content requirements are met.
Why did you join Her Campus Elon? “I wanted to relaunch Her Campus Elon this semester because I felt the pandemic left the women of our community at a loss for connection. Through my role within this publication, I hope to empower and unite the women of our campus through a platform that is uniquely theirs to write for and read!”

Role: Senior Editor
Description: The right-hand of the Editor-in-Chief (EIC). She manages and edits all content before the EIC sees it, reminds writers/bloggers of deadlines, and manages the whole editorial team.
Why did you join Her Campus Elon? “I love what Her Campus stands for! Their mission and idea of creating a female-empowered magazine is fascinating. I was a freshman at Elon when I first heard about Her Campus and instantly became a member of College Fashionista, which allowed me to become more involved with a fellow Her Campus platform. I have lots of experience helping women feel empowered and the process of relaunches, which includes working with Bumble last year as the Campus Media Manager. I am also extremely passionate about creating meaningful connections through my writing. I want to continue representing and spreading the growth of Her Campus throughout Elon. I am so honored and excited to be a part of this strong team!”
Role: Events Director
Description: Our strongest chapters plan events on and/or off-campus throughout the semester, so having an Events Director is essential. She will plan all events, seek out venues and sponsors, determine giveaways, and work closely with the Marketing & Publicity Director to publicize all events.
Why did you join Her Campus Elon? “I wanted to join Her Campus because I don’t think there are enough platforms that empower women or many places to go to find a community where a female can express and talk about the many uncomfortable things that come with being a woman. It’s women empowering women and that is something I really value. I am very passionate about writing, especially about topics that pertain to everyday life and issues that are uncomfortable but need to be addressed. I also love organizing events especially when they can bring people together. I am excited to work with such a fun, passionate and talented group of girls whom I will hopefully be able to leave some kind of lasting impression with at Elon once we all graduate.”
Role: Marketing & Publicity Director
Description: In charge of all things chapter promotion. If your chapter is planning an event, she is in charge of coming up with the strategy your team uses to market and publicize it on campus and throughout the community.
Why did you join Her Campus Elon? “I’ve always loved to write from a young age. Her Campus was one of the first clubs/organizations I joined and I distinctly remember joining Her Campus as a pivotal moment in my college career. Her Campus gave me a platform to discuss what I loved most, beauty and fashion. Being a part of the relaunch was an opportunity I quickly jumped at. It was the chance to pay an ode to an organization that sparked my interest and guided me in my career path. I am excited to use the Her Campus platform to create positive change here at Elon. Alongside my fellow exec members, I cannot be more excited for our plans to come to life!”
Role: Social Media Director
Description: Develops a strategy behind updating all of the Her Campus Elon social media accounts. She manages the social media calendar, analyzes the accounts, and interacts with all readers and followers.
Why did you join Her Campus Elon? “I joined Her Campus because I love how they are targeting the female college student demographic. They produce such relevant and fun content that I knew I needed to be a part of such an empowered and trending atmosphere! I love working with social media because it is such a great creative outlet for me, so I’m looking forward to serving as the Social Media Director this year!”

Description: Trained photographer to help update our site and social media daily.
Why did you join Her Campus Elon? “For me, photography goes beyond mere picture-taking. Her Campus allows me to share my passion and continue to learn from my incredible peers. Her Campus offers so many incredible opportunities that influence my creative process!”
