CBD oil is one of many compounds found in a cannabis plant. Researchers have been looking for the possible benefits of taking CBD oil. Most people will ask, well since this is in marijuana is this going to make me high? The answer is no. Marijuana contains both THC and CBD, and both of these have different effects on the body. CBD is different. Unlike THC, it is not a psychoactive (something that changes a person’s state of mind when they use it). A couple of my friends said they have been taking it to counteract their anxiety, which made me decide to look into it and see if it was worth putting into your body. After researching Medical News Today, WebMD, and the Permanente Journal, I have found that CBD oil may be effective and beneficial for some people.

Below are some benefits of CBD Oil:

Pain Relief

People tend to use prescriptions or over the counter drugs to alleviate their pain. Some people believe that CBD oil is a more natural alternative. According to the Journal of Experimental Medicine, CBD oil significantly reduced chronic inflammation and pain in their test subjects.

Quit Addicting Substances

A study published in the Addictive Behaviors Journal found that one smokers used cigarettes containing CBD oil they smoked fewer cigarettes and started to have no further craving for nicotine. There was also a similar review in Neurotherapeutics, on a study that led scientists to believe CBD oil may be a promising treatment for those who are addicted to opioids.

Epilepsy

Many doctors have been using CBD oil as a way to treat epilepsy. The FDA approved the use of CBD as a therapy for two different conditions of epileptic seizures in 2018.

Fighting Cancer

Some researchers have found that CBD oil may combat cancer. A review in the British Journal of Clinical Pharmacology found supporting evidence that CBD helped prevent the spread of cancer. Further research is still being conducted to fully support CBD oil as a potential cancer treatment or preventative.

Anxiety Disorders

According to Neurotherapeutics, researchers found that CBD oil may reduce anxiety in people with certain disorders. People with PTSD, General Anxiety Disorder, Panic Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder, and OCD have all benefited from using CBD.

Acne

The Journal of Clinical Investigation found that CBD oil may be another promising treatment for acne. It works by reducing inflammation and overworked glands in the body.

Obviously researchers and scientists are not done testing out CBD oil on how it can help the human body. But, I think that so far they have done a great job in discovering the benefits of how it can help some people. I might just have to try it!
