100% Pure: Why You Should Become a Purist (The Sequel)

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Columbia Chicago chapter.

Last semester, I wrote about my favorite beauty brand, 100% Pure. In the article, I talked about some products I was using at that time. Since then, I have ventured out and discovered my love for more of their products. From makeup to tools to skin care, I listed all of the products I’ve tried and fell in love with within these past few months. All images courtesy to 100% Pure.

Makeup

Fruit Pigmented Ultra Lengthening Mascara & Long Last Liquid Eyeliner

I’ve tried a lot of different mascaras, all end up being too cakey or bring my eyelashes down. This fruit pigmented one is absolutely amazing. One coat gives my lashes a natural and full look. Plus, it smells like sweet blueberries‒ what’s not to love? As for the liquid eyeliner, it’s called long last for a reason. ‘Nuff said. $26.00 and $30.00, respectively.

Fruit Pigmented Full Coverage Water Foundation

Before I came across this little beauty, I never liked foundation. They always make my face look too artificial or dry my skin out immediately. Because this is a water foundation, it hydrates your skin and leaves a dewy finish; a perfect natural look. $41.00.

Fruit Pigmented Punk Princess Palette & Rose Gold Palette

The Punk Princess palette (my current go-to) has a great mix of dark and dainty colors, which is great for my fall and winter makeup routine. I’m able to go darker on my eyes, but bright and cheerful with the blush. The Rose Gold palette: shimmery, elegant, timeless. You can never go wrong with any of the colors in this one. $48.00 and $55.00, respectively.

Pomegranate Oil Anti-Aging Lipstick: Black Rose & Lip Glaze: *

So technically I don’t need any anti-aging lipstick yet, but it doesn’t hurt to start early, right? Aside from its benefits, the color Black Rose is EVERYTHING. Plus it’s soothing on my lips, and although it has a satin finish, they never dry. When I want a more buttery, glossy finish, then I turn to the lip glaze in the shade Coquette. $30.00 and $26.00 , respectively.

Brushes

I’m the type of girl who usually uses, like, the same two brushes for everything. After being gifted a bunch of different brushes (thanks, mom), I’m never going back. All brushes from 100% Pure are cruelty free and the bristles are vegan. Softest brushes I’ve ever felt. Ever. Listed below are the brushes I use, each for their intended purposes.

Powder, F50

Blush, F20

Contour, F30

Small Stippling, F10

Skin Care

Vitamin C Serum & Dark Spot Remover

Thanks to this lovely brand, I never have breakouts anymore. However, acne scars and blemishes never want to leave my face. For the past three months, I’ve been using the Vitamin C Serum; I like to take small amounts and massage it into the blemishes on my face at night. Although it isn’t an overnight miracle, I have been seeing major changes. As a college student who barely sleeps, I sometimes wake up looking like a raccoon. Before going to bed, I’ve been putting the Dark Spot Remover under my eyes. Every morning, I wake up with tighter and brighter skin. $42.00 and $48.00, respectively.

Acai Pulp Facial Scrub

All hail the mighty Açai Pulp Facial Scrub. This scrub is a Godsend. Smells like Fruity Pebbles, makes my skin feel crazy soft, and my face is glowing. This is one of their best sellers, and I definitely understand why. Honestly, if you aren’t obsessed over any of their products, yet, this will change your mind. $38.00.

Body Butter

I currently live in Chicago, born and raised in Mid-Michigan. Winter isn’t very nice to us here. Every winter, I always seem to be fighting with the weather to protect my skin from getting dry. The body butter (mangosteen and eucalyptus are my favorites) not only protects my skin from cracking, but it also goes deep to heal and soften. $29.00.

One last thing I discovered upon looking more into what makes 100% Pure so unique is how they’re making a difference. As the customer, every order you make is a donation. You can decide if you want your donation to go toward giving a meal to a sheltered dog, or planting a tree. 100% Pure is partnered with over 60 different charities to make this happen. Not only will you be buying healthy and natural products for your body, but you will also take part in making the world a better place.
