New Bingeworthy Sitcoms for the Start of Homebody Season

Everybody knows the colder months are a homebody’s favorite time of year. It’s the perfect opportunity to cozy up and stay in, except staying in means bedrotting. What if, instead of doomscrolling, we try a new media hyperfixation? Now, I’m sure we’ve all heard of Friends, New Girl, The Office, etc., but what is it about these shows that makes them so special? Well, they’re so addictive because they’re relatable and funny– and what better way to spend a night in than with a good laugh? Grab your favorite snacks and some comfy clothes; here are my top three recs for your new favorite binge-worthy sitcoms:

I Love LA (2025-)

The influencer scene is bigger than ever in today’s society, and this chaotic comedy taps into that lifestyle by following Maia (Rachel Sennott), an overly ambitious talent agent who recently moved from New York to LA, and her former best friend, Tallulah (Odessa A’zion), through the ups and downs of navigating fame and social media. The pair finds themselves in a messy but hilarious overlap of LA culture, friendships (yes, fake ones too), and career aspirations. Their relationship dynamic alongside the other characters keeps viewers captivated from start to finish every episode, and there’s never a dull moment with the over-exaggerated valley girl stereotypes and dark humor. This is definitely a must-watch in my book and has easily become one of my personal favorites.

Adults (2025-)

Picture this: Five twenty-somethings still figuring out this whole “adulthood” thing share a house in Queens, New York, all while trying to maintain their longstanding childhood friendships with one another and learning to be functional members of society. This sitcom explores all things Gen Z, highlighting the “in-between” stages of life and finding humor even in the most difficult times. Between questionable decisions, hookup culture, and everyday struggles of getting their lives together, the group proves that growing up doesn’t necessarily mean growing out of your chaos. It’s the kind of comedy that makes you laugh at situations you might otherwise stress over, reminding you that nobody’s life is perfect, even when it looks that way from the outside. For anyone who’s ever felt like everybody else seems to have adulthood all figured out, this is a show that makes being a work in progress look pretty entertaining.

Abbott Elementary (2021-)

Most workplaces have difficult bosses, strict deadlines, and not nearly enough resources, but at Abbott Elementary School in Philadelphia, the staff has all three plus a principal who often seems more interested in her own image than the well-being of her staff or students. Created by and starring Quinta Brunson, the show follows a group of teachers determined to give their students a meaningful education despite an underfunded system and plenty of workplace dysfunction. Though a bit older than the other two series previously mentioned, the seasons are still ongoing, and it’s a perfect fit for viewers looking for a comedy that delivers both laugh-out-loud moments and little bits of reality that help restore faith in people. Definitely worth a spot on your watchlist if it’s not on it already.

Binge over Scroll

So, as the temperatures drop and the urge to stay wrapped up in bed gets stronger, why not give yourself something better to do than another endless scroll through TikTok? Whether you’re in the mood for the unhinged world of LA influencers, the chaotic reality of navigating your twenties, or the heartwarming workplace antics of Philadelphia’s favorite teachers, these three sitcoms offer something for every kind of comedy lover. You never know; your next binge-worthy obsession might be just one episode away!
