The month of love is here! February! Love! Yay! Of course, love isn’t solely associated with romantic relationships, it includes everything, like food and music. So without further ado, here are some of the small things that I love, in no particular order.

1. The feeling of the sun.

To me, this is one of the best feelings in the world. The warmth of the sun on my skin is a feeling that I absolutely love. I find it to absolutely relaxing. It might be because I am from California, where the sun forever shines. When I sun is shining and it’s bright outside, I am so much happier! So let it be sunny forever!

2. Overpriced workout classes.

I am a sucker for these. Barry’s Bootcamp, Soul Cycle, Pilates, or hot yoga… you name it, I’m there. Yes, I am very aware I could just go to my school gym for free; however, I feel like I can get lazy and not push myself to my fullest potential when it’s just me at the gym. I enjoy when the class instructors are yelling and motivating me. It pushes me to work harder!

3. Garlic.

I LOVE GARLIC. There is no way I can be a vampire, because let me tell you…I eat so much garlic. Chicken? Add garlic. Shrimp? Add garlic. Bread? Make it garlic bread! And if you cook me a dish with the flavor of both garlic and lemon…I will love you forever.

4. Dogs.

Like many people, I love dogs. I really do love all dogs. Ever since I became a college student, I feel like this love, possibly an obsession, has skyrocketed. If I see a cute dog, I will squeal, cry, or take a picture of it. On social media, specifically Instagram, if there is a post of a cute dog I will bookmark it and/or send it to my friends. (Fun fact: my favorite type of dogs are Corgis, French Bulldogs, and Pugs.)

5. Flowers.

Flowers are so pretty; like, nature really did that. Something about having fresh flowers in your home really brightens things up. Flowers (literally) add life and color to your place. My favorites are red or yellow tulips!

6. Walking.

I walk for a long time, especially when it’s a nice day out or I am in a new place. It’s a great way to explore, mediate, self-reflect, and exercise. Plus, it’s free so I try to walk whenever possible. I like to listen to music and pretend I am in a music video when I walk.

7. The color red.

In 2017, I decided that my official favorite color was red. Can you believe it? It took me that long to figure out my favorite color! I truly embraced this love of red. I now have plenty of red things. I just think red is a spicy, exciting, and vibrant color. It’s the color of passion!

These are just some of the small things I enjoy in life. It is important to remember that these things are little forms of happiness in our lives, but aren’t the main things that matter (like family, friends, and dreams)!
