Lifestyle Diaries: How I Chose To Get Summer Ready in a Week

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BU chapter.

I have one week before I’m going home to see my family, Moscow, then to study and intern abroad in London. All that calls for preparation. However, with finals this week, I can’t say I’m not stressed. I’ll tell you how I prepared myself for summer quickly so you can see your relatives feeling gorgeous!

Here’s what I did to get myself summer ready in a week:

**all of this is completely optional, of course, you don’t have to do this if you’re now comfortable or don’t feel like this is you. This is just what I did to feel good.**

On Sunday, I did leg waxing and a naked manicure. (I didn’t want to get distracted for my finals by getting something too colorful.)

As a part of a personal routine that I find works best for me, I also started working out while intermittently fasting and portion-controlling my eating daily. I went to the gym for at least 30 minutes, and I tried pressed juices and loved them! Highly recommend (in control of course).

On Monday besides my studying for finals, I started cleaning my room and packing everything. I’m thinking of leaving all the heavy blankets and winter coats in storage since I’ll be back next year.

Tuesday, I finished all the cleaning up, leaving my room completely empty.

Wednesday, I finalized packing my clothes and took my final at 12:30. Right after I’m done with my final I flew out to NYC.

Thursday, I had my teeth cleaned and regular medical check-ins.

Friday, Saturday, Sunday I got a pedicure, more waxing procedures, and cut split ends. While getting a pedicure at my favorite salon in NYC, Frederic Fekkai, I cleaned out my Instagram (followers, post, etc) and my photos. We all have those pictures saved in our favorites that we don’t ever look at.

I haven’t decided if I want blue highlights or not. On one hand, I want to grow out my hair, but on the other, I want to do something fun to celebrate the end of the year. I still have time to think.

Lastly, on Monday, I will buy Godiva chocolate for my family and go to the airport in the evening to fly to Russia.

While these are my personal musts for prepping for the summer, I hope I gave you some ideas on what to do to pamper yourself before you go to your vacation destination. Make summer 2019 your best one yet!
