It’s no secret that avocado toast is the best way to start your day—or at least I think it is! But I’m here to shed light on the lesser-known ways to extract all the goodness from this creamy ingredient through more than the everyday avocado on toast or good ole’ guac n’ chips.

Dry? Bye.

Avocados don’t just taste creamy—they are! The good fats packed into it can help condition your skin to restore the moisture. Simply mash it up and use it as a face mask for about 15 minutes. If you’re looking to get in some brightening as well, you can even squeeze some lemon juice into it.

Treat yo’ tresses!

Just as you can use it to hydrate your skin, you can use it to condition the ends of your locks—especially if you’re looking to restore the shine! Avocados are rich in vitamin E, which is great for healthy hair, so avoca-go-put-it-in-your-hair!

It’s all in the seed!

How many of you have actually ever considered using that hazelnut-colored seed or even knew that it could be of use? I learned only recently, that 70% of the nutritional value of the avocado comes from the seed—crazy, right? To get it into a powder, peel the outer shell and throw the seed into the blender. Not only can this miracle powder be used as a face mask when combined with aloe vera gel or yogurt, but also added to your smoothies and salads. Honestly, I was skeptical about it since I have sensitive skin, but after two uses, it has definitely weaseled its way into my skincare staples!

Use it as a replacement in your chocolate mousse.

Simply blend it in with some raw cacao powder, a spoonful of maple syrup, and a dollop of peanut butter if you like—and voila! It’s the answer to your 12 a.m. dessert cravings, I promise!

I hope this inspires you to feed not only yourself but also your skin with all the goodness from this wholesome ingredient because let me tell you––it really does work!
