Surviving Midterms this Fall

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Bryn Mawr chapter.

We’re about halfway through the semester, which means it’s time for midterms, papers and projects. This is the easiest time of the year to lose all motivation, so here are some little pieces of motivation to get you through this halfway mark slump!

You’ve made it through the toughest part

The hardest part of the year is always the beginning. Between adjusting to a new schedule, getting classes organized and finding your way back into a routine, it becomes difficult to balance everything that’s going on. But, all of that stress is gone now! Now is the time to buckle down and get to work and really focus on getting stuff done!

The end of stress is near

Don’t let all of your assignments and exams scare you. Whenever you feel yourself starting to get too overwhelmed, remember to take a deep breathe and think to yourself: “All of this will be done in time; I just have to get it done.”

Done is Good

All you can do is try your best. Getting stuff done is the best feeling there is at this time of year. Don’t let yourself get distracted by unreasonable expectations for yourself. Just focus on getting your work done well, and it will undoubtedly turn out to be successful!

Don’t forget Fall activities

While the weeks of midterms and projects can become distracting, don’t forget to enjoy things outside of classes. It’s still Fall, which means there are plenty of fun activities happening around campus and around Philly. Remember to take breaks and enjoy these! After all, we all need a little refresher from time to time.
