Finals season is definitely a stressful time, but that doesn’t mean you should throw self-care out the window. Part of effective studying and doing well on exams is taking care of your body and mind. Unfortunately we can’t always take whole days off from studying to treat ourselves, so here are some low-key ideas to self-care this finals season.

Face Masks

Not only do face masks do great things for your skin, but they also make you feel super glamorous while you have them on. Obviously you can buy face masks to use, but if you don’t feel like spending the money there are DIY ones you can make with ingredients from the dining hall!

Exercise

I know, it sounds gross if you’re lazy like me. However, exercise is a great way to recharge your brain and body, and to release endorphins. You can do something really simple like 20 jumping jacks or a quick workout like the one above. Bonus points if you go outside and get some fresh air!

Drink Water

This one is kind of obvious, but staying hydrated will keep your body and mind going while you shuffle through piles of notes and readings. If you find drinking plain water boring you can also opt for fruit infused water.

Snack Right

It’s so tempting to get some pizza when you’re busy, on-the-go and want something delicious to eat. However, eating healthy snacks will give you more brain power and make you feel better in the long run. Check out this article on healthy snacking in college.

Naps/Sleep

Again, this one is pretty obvious. Staying up until 2-3 AM every night is not going to help you remember information any better. It’s important to get at least 7-8 hours of sleep every night if you can. If you’re feeling really exhausted, listen to your body and take a short nap in the afternoon.
