Studio Review: Barre and Soul Wayland Square

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Brown chapter.

Looking to change up your workout routine or take a break from the Nelson? I highly recommend visiting Barre and Soul in Wayland Square. Less than a mile away from campus, Barre and Soul is a beautiful studio with extremely welcoming staff and amazing barre and yoga classes. Upon entering the studio, all the instructors ask for your name—both to check you in and and to cheer you on during class—and will help you set up your station with a yoga mat, weights, rubber band, and ball. My favorite class is the classic Barre and Soul Method, which is a 55-minute class that works your legs, arms, butt, and abs. Watch out—it will definitely leave you sore! The class also ends with a peaceful savasana that will leave you feeling relaxed and ready for the the rest of your day (or night). They offer a new client one-month special (unlimited classes) for $79 (which is a great motivation to go frequently), but if you’re interested in just trying it out, I recommend attending the Barre and Soul open house on Saturday February 16th, where all classes will be $10 and there will be free swag and refreshments! In addition, Barre and Soul is offered on classpass, which has a variety of monthly memberships that allow you to use credits towards a range of fitness studios across Providence.
