Are you sick and tired of the cold? Maybe you like the cold. Everyone has their differences when it comes to preferring different seasons. I myself, do not approve of the cold. I am more of a fall person because it has cool weather and pretty leaves that change.

The winter can be really hard for college students. Many students that attend Bowling Green State University, in Bowling Green, Ohio, have to walk to their classes on campus. In this article, I will share some things that may help you to stay warm for the winter!

Food

How about we start off with food? During the winter many people love to eat warm food to keep themselves warm. These meals are winter-friendly!

  • Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup (This is a meal that can last for days. I personally love homemade chicken noodle soup better than the canned soup)
  • Mexican Winter Chili (Chili can be seasoned in so many ways. You can even add some cheese, chives and sour cream)
  • Peach Cobbler (Try this dessert with some of your favorite ice cream. Trust me on this one!)
  • Spanish Potatoes (I have never tried this dish before, but I know many people who have. This dish may go great with your favorite meal)

drinks

The next list is full of warm drinks. These drinks will help you relax and can help sore throats.

  • Spicy Hot Chocolate (Are you getting tired of making the same hot chocolate drink? Adding a little spice to this drink can help add something different)
  • Bourbon-Citrus-Sipper (My friends and I actually made this drink together. Instead of drinking it, we actually let this drink boil in a pot on the stove top. A method like this will help you have a nice smelling room)
  • Spiced Pomegranate Cider (I was really surprised how delicious this drink was, a 10/10 from me!)
  • Mulled Cranberry Punch (This drink was sour, but good at the same time)

Clothing

The final list is warm clothing to wear in the winter.

  • Hats (Does your hair blow all over the place in the wind? A hat can help keep your hair in place during cold weather. Fun Fact: if your hat is long enough, they can keep your ears warm as well)
  • Coats (In order to stay warm a coat is highly recommended. A coat with fur on the inside will keep you very warm. Coats like these can be found in many stores)
  • Gloves (Gloves are really important. Usually when I go outside my hands start to get frost bite on them. The gloves help my hands to stay warm. You can get some cheap gloves from Five and Below)
  • Boots (We have all been in boots. I love boots because there many different boots that anyone can wear. Boots help me walk in the snow a lot better)

The winter is when we can still have fun and bundle up. Let’s not have the cold weather bring us down. We have to show the weather that it cannot stop us from having fun and staying safe. I hope everyone reading this enjoys this winter and I hope everyone is staying safe.
