Goodbye to the girl who was in love with love, and then she found it, but then she lost it within herself. She put all her love into everyone else except to the one who really needed it: Herself. She enjoyed the beauty and the passion of experiencing a new chapter in life, and so many “first” moments. From her first move-in day, first day of college, first college party, first college friend, first college football game, first boyfriend, first love and so many more firsts.

Even the ones that broke her: Her first mental breakdown, first time getting played, first time getting sick without anyone to take care of her, first time saying goodbye to her college friends for the summer, and the first time her heart truly broke.

To the girl that took a lot of pain both physically and mentally this past year. You dealt with so much all because you were in love with love and everything in between. To be quite honest you still are, but that’s okay. To the nights and days when you felt like time didn’t exist, when you cried for days from the physical heartache, but through all that, you found your forever friends and your mini partner in crime. You found something that truly gave you a purpose to keep going through all the darkness.

Even though you haven’t found yourself just yet, you are learning again to love yourself. For the first time, you feel that you don’t need to find love just yet. Yes, the idea of love is something you’ll always desire, but you will find it again when you learn to love yourself first.

This is a goodbye to my younger self: The last year of college is going to start in just a few months. Take this time to say Goodbye to the old you and learn to love the new friend, daughter, girlfriend, and more you will become.. Keep on learning to be independent, enjoy the adventures with your best friends, the long walks in the early mornings with Finn, keep meditating, practicing yoga and drinking coffee.

Remember, as Ed Sheeran so wisely said, “A heart that’s broke is a heart that’s been loved.” So don’t be afraid to open your heart again, say goodbye to the memories and be grateful you got to feel every emotion so strongly.

Cheers to you, the girl who will love herself more than ever before. It might take time, but she will say ”Hello” soon.
