I Got a Fitness Trainer: Here’s How It Went

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Agnes Scott chapter.

Recently, I was overcoming a breakupㅡ stuck in a rut, more to say. I really wanted to change something and I decided to finally investment in myself; I hired a personal trainer.

As fancy as it sounds, I really just ended up approaching one of the trainers at the gym and asked if they had a student rate. Luckily for me the trainer was a recent alum of Agnes Scott, so they gave me a great deal.

When you are looking for a personal trainer, it is important to be clear on what you want to get out of it all. For me personally, I wanted to be stronger and healthier. I have stepped away from trying to restrict my weight because of personal reasons. I made sure to tell my trainer that much, and they were really responsive and immediately set up my fitness plan.

The first day was HARD.

Like, can’t catch my breath calling out for Jesus hard. But as time went by, I was able to keep up and finally able to feel better about myself. Not only was I getting stronger physically but mentally I felt like I had taken back control.

My advice is to do you research and to make sure you make health changes for the right reasons. When you want to see changes in your body, it is going to take a little timeㅡ so be patient. If you put in the time and dedication, you will find that it is all worth it in the end.
