HCAU: Hi Hannah! We want to know all about your university experiences, some of your likes and dislikes, and just generally more about you as a person! How are you feeling?

H: I am good! Gearing up for the final year! I have really enjoyed studying in Aberdeen, the last 3 years have been really good (especially pre covid!). I particularly miss first and second year, living in halls and the drama of it all, and just finding uni carefree rather than stressing over grades. However, that being said, I am excited to come up with a proposal for my dissertation and then stress over that ahahaha

HCAU: I’m glad to hear that, let’s jump right in and get started! You are a relatively new member in the society and the committee, what made you want to join HCAU?

H: I really wanted to join a society, and committee at least once during university. Since I paused last year, I thought joining a society would be really important, so I could meet new people and find new friends. HerCampus seemed like a good place to start, and everyone seems so supportive and friendly!

HCAU: What about being treasurer? What made you decide to go for this role?

H: I’m very good with money, and who wouldn’t want to help find some bargain hoodies for society members?! And help cost up some good nights out xoxox

HCAU: We are sure you’ll do amazing! We hope you’ve been enjoying your summer, have you been up to anything interesting?

H: Sadly, not too much interesting stuff! However, I did get a cat and that’s pretty much taken up the entirety of my summer (he’s my lil child). I have enjoyed many walks along the beach and a few sunny days on campus!

HCAU: All good things must come to an end, and the end of summer starts with going back to university. Any advice for newcomers coming to Aberdeen University?

H: Just say YES to everything, even if it is out of your comfort zone. Say hi to people on tutorials, go to events alone, attend campus tours and get a feel for the place. You meet so many people and everyone just wants to make friends. You might jump groups a few times, but when you find your people, they’ll stick and you’ll laugh about how stressed you were before freshers.

HCAU: We’ve got a few quick-fire questions for you; we hope you are ready!

Dinner OR Drinks?

DINNER, I love a good meal out! Especially dessert.

Favourite book?

Probably Wuthering Heights, it’s been my favourite text since secondary school!

Main meal OR Dessert?

DESSERT, ahaha I answered this earlier! I have a major sweet tooth

Favourite Aberdeen night out?

I love unplanned nights out, but my all-time fave was a night out following a cocktail class. Those things get you gone real quick…

Keep an eye out on our socials for Hannah hard at work!
