Chipotle is gamifying your burrito bowl cravings this summer — and making every order feel like a win. After relaunching its “Rewards on Repeat” program for all Chipotle reward members on April 13, Chipotle is now bringing back its Summer of Extras program, the restaurant’s summer-long rewards challenge.
From June 1 through Aug. 31, Chipotle Rewards members can join this fun challenge to earn points, badges, and even free entrees just by continuing to place (and eat!) their usual order. And, new this summer, Chipotle is launching local rankings, so fans can see their standing compared to other fans of Chipotle at their local restaurant, in their state, and even across the country. So, if your friends already think you have a Chipotle attachment, now there’s basically a leaderboard full of people just like you.
The challenge itself is pretty simple: With every entree you purchase, it will count toward your monthly streaks, and the more you visit, the more points and rewards you gain. If you can complete seven visits monthly, you will finish your streak challenge, which will then earn you a free entree. Chipotle is also introducing “side quests,” which are limited-time challenges (yet to be announced) that allow you to earn even more points. There will also be weekly “Rewards Exchange” offers every Monday starting June 8, along with other exclusive offers, which allow customers to maximize their rewards by exchanging points for extra upgrades. Fans will also be able to brag about their rankings, rewards, and streaks with the new feature of shareable stats, which will be launched later this summer, so you’ll be able to post all over your Instagram.
If you’re not already a Chipotle Rewards member, you can sign up and join the Summer of Extras 2026 starting May 28 by downloading the Chipotle app and creating a free account with your email and phone number. New members also get a limited-time offer of free chips and guac after signing up (which, TBH is probably enough to convince people to join). Plus, if you’re a college student, you can sign up for Chipotle U rewards with ID.me and earn points 20% faster, gain access to exclusive rewards (such as free food drops), and even receive 1,000 points just for signing up. If your summer plans already involve an unreasonable amount of burritos and guac, then you might as well get some deals out of it.
