If you’re like the rest of us Swifties, then you are always stalking queen Taylor Swift’s Instagram. And if you happened upon her IG feed on Oct. 23, then you would’ve seen her new post that got fans theorizing that her next album, what fans call TS11, may be coming sooner than we all think. Here’s the deal.
Swift’s post on Oct. 23 was a slide of one video and two pictures, and the last two pictures caught everyone’s attention. In the first video, Swift and her longtime producer Jack Antonoff told fans how happy they were that “Cruel Summer” became a No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Swift said, “And it’s not even summer anymore! It’s deep fall.” The second and third images in the carousel featured Swift and Antonoff holding up their hands. Antonoff had all 10 of his fingers up, and Swift stood next to him holding up one finger. All of Swift’s fans know about the singer’s secret messages, so Swifties took to the internet to figure out what this meant.
Some fans, such as Alex Antonides, had some theories. He took to TikTok on Oct. 23 to post about how Jack holding up 10 fingers and Taylor holding up one finger equals 11, which could signify her 11th album is on the way. He even went on to say the album is coming “sooner than you think,” and that Swift in the studio is “up to no good.”
Comments on the TikTok argued that she wouldn’t release an album until after the Eras Tour, which starts its international leg on Nov. 9 with dates across the world running through November 2024. Others said Swift definitely won’t be waiting until 2025 for a number of reasons, such as not being able to compete for the 2025 Grammys.
One user quoted Swift’s song “Karma,” featuring Ice Spice, writing, “Karma bout to pop up unannounced” — theorizing that one day, Swift will just release her album with no warning. Swift typically follows a two-year release schedule, but with her already being in the studio while currently on tour, this could be a sign the album is coming even sooner.
From the Eras Tour to her new romance with Travis Kelce, Taylor Swift is giving fans something new every week, and she may want to keep that buzz going with a new album. It isn’t out of the realm of possibility to think she may just drop it unexpectedly. She has a lot of new content to write about — maybe it’s a love album? Fans will have to wait to find out — and hopefully, not that long!
