Wait, Are The ‘SLOMW’ Spinoff Cast Members All Mormon?

The Secret Lives Of Mormon Wives is headed to California. Hulu announced that a new spinoff of the show, The Secret Lives Of Mormon Wives: Orange County, is coming to the streamer. The series will follow a new group of mothers, including Bobbi Althoff, Madison Bontempo, Aspyn Ovard, Avery Woods, and Salomé Andrea. The kicker? Not all of these women are actually Mormon.

Hulu’s description of the series in a press release says: “A new group of dynamic young mothers in Orange County collide in a community where beliefs are not just their religion; they are their identity. While some defend their way of life, fighting against modernity, others embrace change, becoming a platform to disrupt the status quo. Scandals and secrets will be revealed, facades will crumble, and families and friendships will change forever on both sides of the battlefield as this group of strong, game-changing influencers comes together to build their answer to #MomTok.”

These women are all moms, and they’re all active on social media, but they’re not all actually Mormon, and some aren’t currently wives. Nonetheless, the The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County is expected to hit Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ for bundle subscribers this year, so allow me to introduce you to the new cast.

Bobbi Althoff

Like the other moms on MomTok, Althoff began posting candid videos about being a mom and her pregnancy with her daughter on TikTok in 2021. Except, Althoff isn’t Mormon. She has described her upbringing in the past as “very Christian.”

Althoff’s deadpan, sarcastic-yet-relatable personality is what led her to gain a following of over 8 million TikTok followers and 3 million Instagram followers. In 2023, she shifted her focus from mom content and created her own podcast, The Really Good Podcast, where she uses her same comedic style to interview celebrities like Shaquille O’Neal, J Balvin, Mark Cuban, and Drake.

Madison Bontempo

Madison Bontempo Fisher is an actress and producer known for her involvement in The Metrosexual, The Last Straw, and Chapel, and is now an internet personality and a mom of five, married to Kyler Fisher. The couple rose to fame for their family YouTube channel, The Fishfam, which now has over 4.7 million subscribers, in addition to their almost 8 million followers on TikTok. The young couple posts the wholesome family content you would expect with travel vlogs, baking videos, and matching pajamas.

The Fisher family is actually Mormon, and Botempo said on the Pretty Dirty Podcast With Alex Hall that she is a fan of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives because she knows most of the girls personally.

Ovard started as a YouTuber in 2011, sharing her life getting married at 19, having kids, and getting a divorce in 2024 from her longtime partner, Parker Ferris. While she grew up in Utah, she’s said in previous videos and on social media that she doesn’t consider herself to have ever been Mormon, but she did grow up around Mormon culture. She has also been featured in previous episodes of SLOMW, most notably at the Halloween party in Season 2.

Avery Woods

After serving as a pediatric ICU nurse through the pandemic and working as an aesthetic injector afterward, Woods decided to pursue content creation full time in 2023. Woods uses her authenticity and vulnerability to discuss motherhood, daily vlogs, and beauty. She now has over 2 million followers on TikTok and her own podcast called Cheers!, which is a part of Alex Cooper’s Unwell Network. Woods said in a January 2024 episode of Cheers! that she has “never been a religious person.”

Salomé Andrea

Andrea is another Utah-based influencer with over a million followers on TikTok who creates content centered on family, fashion, and GRWM videos, often featuring her twins. She is known for her authentic, “unbothered” style. While Andrea grew up practicing Mormonism, she noted on a 2023 episode of Woods’s podcast that she’s not “a Utah Mormon.”

“I don’t like to come out and say, ‘I am not Mormon’ because I have my own relationship with God, so does [my husband] Aaron,” Salomé said. “We don’t go [to church], we drink, we have tattoos, we do things that ‘we shouldn’t’ in the church. I still feel like I don’t need to say, ‘I’m not Mormon’ because I have my own relationship with that and we do want our girls to grow up with some sort of religion and understanding of something bigger, so my mom takes them to church.”

My name is Isabelle Farina, I am a senior Journalism student at the University of Georgia receiving a minor in Law, Ethics and Philosophy and a certificate in Film and Media Scoring. While I’ve been having my fun in the south, I’m definitely a Jersey Girl at heart. I'm from a small town in New Jersey, so I love splitting my time between the beach and New York City. Because of my proximity to such a vivacious city,I love all things pop culture; books, movies, TV, music, you name it, I am definitely interested in it.

The most important goal of mine is to be able to channel my passions for media and storytelling into a lifelong career. My dream job would be to be an entertainment reporter for a culture magazine or write for the arts and culture columns of a newspaper. I have always been fascinated by celebrity culture and how audiences get so attached to people they don't even know just because of the art they create or are involved in.

To pursue my passion thus far, I have gotten involved with fashion magazines on campus and written culture articles for local publications. The power of the media is so intriguing to me and I realize how important it is to society. I want to be a part of the action.
