The Meaning Behind Nicki Minaj’s “Big Foot” Takes Her Feud With Megan Thee Stallion To A New Level

Things are getting heated between Nicki Minaj and Megan Thee Stallion. On Jan. 26, Megan released her new single, “Hiss,” which included a diss against Minaj and her husband, Kenneth Penny, in addition to Drake, Tory Lanez, and Pardison Fontaine. Not long after “Hiss” was released, Minaj responded to the diss with a snippet of her new song “Big Foot” on Instagram Live. On Jan. 29, Minaj dropped the full song, and the meaning behind the lyrics include some very personal digs at the “Savage” rapper.

Before now, it was believed that Megan Thee Stallion and Nicki Minaj were cool with each other. However, after the release of these diss tracks, it seems like there’s some pretty bad blood between the rappers, and Minaj might’ve escalated things with “Big Foot.”

In the intro of the song, Minaj seemingly mentions Megan’s late mother, who died of brain cancer in March 2019. She raps, “How you f*ck your mother man when she die?/How you go on Gayle King and can’t cry?/Chile, b-b-b-b-bye/Big foot, but you still a small fry/Swearin’ on your dead mother when you lie (Ay, yo).”

Going into the beginning verse of the track, Minaj doesn’t hold back as she calls out Megan for dissing her husband in “Hiss.” ICYMI, Megan threw some not-so-discrete shade at Minaj’s husband, Petty, and his status as a convicted sex offender. In “Hiss,” Megan raps: “These h*es don’t be mad at Megan, these h*es mad at Megan’s Law,” referring to the statute mandated in all states that gives the public information about registered sex offenders.

In “Big Foot,” Minaj clapped back at Megan’s diss with one of her own. “This lil’ beggin’ wh*re talkin’ ’bout Megan’s law/For a free beat, you could hit Megan raw (Ooh)/If you a ghostwriter, Pardi in Megan jaw (Ooh-ooh)/Shots thrown, but I still ain’t let Megan score (Tell ’em).”

Minaj went on to address the Tory Lanez shooting incident involving Megan from 2020. She raps, “You was lyin’ to the Queen, then you went lyin’ to the King, Gayle/ That thirty-year-old tea, so stale/ Kylie kicked you out and made you stumble to the car/ Barbz, I need a good alcohol bar/ Roman, wait, that was the bar/ Like a body builder, I keep raisin’ the bar/ F*ck you get shot with no scar? (Brr).” Oof.

Not long after “Big Foot” was released, fans took to X/Twitter to share their reactions to Minaj’s diss against Megan.

Neither of the artists have publicly commented on their alleged beef so we’ll just have to see if any more drama comes out of this feud now that Nicki dropped “Big Foot.”
