Meg Thee Stallion Dissed Nicki Minaj On “Hiss” & Nicki Responded Immediately

Megan Thee Stallion is hitting all the haters hard with the release of her new single, Hiss, on Friday, Jan. 26. Since the release of “Cobra” two months ago and teasing her new song the week of Jan. 22, everybody has been shaking with a snake in their boots. While fans were excited for Meg to stick up for herself and show her fangs, some fans think she dissed Nicki Minaj on her new song. Fans were quick to point to one line in the “Hiss” lyrics that seemed to be aimed at Minaj, and soon after, Minaj took to social media herself to respond.

Even though Meg might be in her unapologetic era, has this subtle jab at Minaj slithered into the wrong ears? The lyrics, “These h*es don’t be mad at Megan, these h*es mad at Megan’s Law. I don’t really know what the problem is but I guarantee y’all don’t want me to start. B*tch you a p*ssy. Never finna check me. Every chance you get bet yo weak a** won’t address me,” have sparked some shade among the rap powerhouses, as Meg mentioned a law that hits a little too close to home for Nicki.

Megan’s Law is a U.S. federal law that requires law enforcement to make registered sex offenders information publicly available, and according to a comment on Genius Lyrics, this line is a “shot at fellow artist Nicki Minaj, whose husband, Kenneth Petty is a registered sex offender.” Petty was convicted of first-degree attempted rape back in 1995. He was registered as a sex offender in New York, but Petty was sentenced to three years probation and one year of house arrest in 2022 after moving to Hidden Hills, California, with Minaj and failing to register as a sex offender in the state of California.

Despite this direct bite, Minaj was quick to respond to the “Hiss” track only an hour after its release. As seen on her Instagram Live story, Minaj addressed Meg as she teased a new diss track of her own. In a short clip only about 10 seconds long, Minaj raps, “Bad b*tch, she like six foot, I call her Bigfoot. The b*tch fell off, I said get up on your good foot. Three Grammys and can’t find the beat?” Luckily for Meg, she was able to laugh it off via her Instagram story.

While Meg may be unbothered at the moment, fans are latching onto the feud and what might happen next. Will the two rappers be amused by the whole thing, or will it become something more?
