Megan Thee Stallion Was One Of Many Celebs With A Cameo In The ‘Mean Girls’ Musical Movie

“The Black Regina George” makes an appearance in the new Mean Girls musical movie, and we’re obsessed. Mean Girls (2024) is finally out, and fans of Megan Thee Stallion will want to see the film ASAP. Along with her iconic  “Not My Fault” collab with Reneé Rapp, the rapper also appears in the film — twice.

The original Mean Girls movie came out two decades ago. Since then, social media has changed a lot. The new movie shows how social media has impacted the dynamics of the cliques at North Shore High. Regina and Cady (Angourie Rice) go viral several times on an app that is very similar to TikTok, though no name or logo is ever shown.

There are some differences from the OG movie in this new film, including The Plastics talent show performance. The girls perform “Rockin’ Around The Pole” from the Mean Girls Broadway musical instead of “Rockin’ Around The Christmas Tree” like in the OG movie. Damian (Jaquel Spivey) also shouts, “thank u, next” from the crowd. This is so funny since the Ariana Grande music video paid homage to the OG film and featured Kris Jenner as Regina’s mom in the audience during the talent show.

The dance is also different. Regina George does a handstand and then falls on her face in front of everyone. People immediately took out their phones and posted about her fall on social media. The performance fail quickly goes viral, and students, influencers, and celebrities discuss the drama. This is where Megan Thee Stallion makes her first appearance, showing love to Cady like so many others online.

Influencer Chris Olsen is shown as well. There’s even a #ReginaChallenge. Later in the movie, immediately after Regina gets hit by a school bus, Megan pops up again and hilariously says, “How do I get this off my timeline.”

The cameos may be small, but they’re so fetch. Megan is no stranger to being in a movie musical. Just last year, she starred in Dicks: The Musical.

She also lent her iconic vocals and dropped some bars on the popular Netflix show Big Mouth. The hotties love seeing Megan on the big and silver screen, and we can only pray that she’ll do more acting and cameos in the future. I also can’t get enough of Megan and Renee together. “Not My Fault” is a bop, and the duo needs to get back in the studio together ASAP.

Until then, I’ll have the song on repeat and will be rewatching Mean Girls the musical movie more than once.
