Another day, another celeb pairing that spawned out of mid-air. From Selena Gomez and Drew Taggart to Kylie Jenner and Timothee Chalamet, I can’t keep up with all of these relationship rumors. Though some have been proven to be false, it doesn’t make them any less shocking. And to add to the list of weird pairings, Taylor Swift and 1975’s frontman Matty Healy are rumored to be dating. It’s OK, I’m confused too.
On May 3, The Sun reported that Swift was in a new romance with Healy just weeks after her split with Joe Alwyn. This isn’t the first time Swift and Healy have been rumored to be in a relationship, however. Back in 2014, rumors started circulating when Swift attended a The 1975 show and both were spotted sporting shirts of each other’s albums. Healy quickly shut the rumors down back then, but neither have commented on the current rumors.
Even though he keeps his love life pretty much under wraps, Healy has had some high-profile relationships (some real, some rumored). So, to distract ourselves from a potential romance between Swift and him, let’s take a look at Healy’s dating history.
Aliana Lohan: December 2014 – unknown
In 2014, around the time of the first Swift rumors, Healy was rumored to be dating Lindsay Lohan’s sister, Aliana, in December 2014. However, those rumors were never confirmed nor ever addressed by the pair. Before Aliana and Swift, he was also rumored to be linked to model Gemma Janes.
Halsey: Circa 2015
Halsey and Healy first started reportedly dating in 2015 after she attended one of The 1975’s shows. Halsey even collaborated with the band on the single ”Ghosts.” The only insight fans got into their relationship was when Halsey said in an interview with Billboard, “We’re both attracted to characters, and we saw that in each other. I spent a lot of time watching him and he spent a lot of time loving being watched. But if you think he’s the first red-wine-drinking, pretty-boy rocker in skinny jeans I’ve been associated with, you’re out of your f—ing mind.” Apparently, Healy’s love life is a mystery because the two never completely confirmed their relationship or their split. However, it was reported that they split that same year.
Gabriella Brooks: Circa 2015 – August 2019
The first confirmed relationship of Healy’s was with model Gabriella Brooks. The pair first started dating in 2015. However, it wasn’t until 2017 that they made their first public appearance with one another at the Brit Awards. After a four-year-long relationship, she and Healy called it quits in August 2019. In an interview with The Guardian in 2020, Healy attributed the breakup to the chaos of his 20s and not being emotionally mature at the time.
FKA Twigs: January 2020 – June 2022
FKA Twigs, whose real name is Tahliah Debrett Barnett, and Healy were first seen together at RuPaul’s Dragcon UK in January 2020, sparking dating rumors. A month later, the pair seemingly made it Instagram official when Healy posted a picture of them at the NME awards. However, in June 2022, the couple reportedly called it quits due to heightened “work commitments” following the COVID-19 pandemic, according to Daily Mail.
Charlotte Briar D’Alessio: Circa December 2022 – unknown
In December 2022, The Sun reported that there was a blossoming romance between model Charlotte Briar D’Alessio and Healy, claiming that she was supporting Healy backstage at his shows. However, that was about the extent of the relationship as nothing else has been reported until the dating rumors of him and Swift.
Well, I wish I could say I’m all for Swift and Healy, but to be honest, I just want her to live her best single life. However, based on Healy’s dating history and the trajectory of internet gossip, it could all just be rumors. Healy and Swift are both very lowkey when it comes to relationships, so it’s likely fans will be left guessing for a while.
