It might be possible that Harry Styles took “I live for you, I long for you, Olivia” to a new level. According to Page Six, Styles was spotted with an “Olivia” tattoo on his thigh while on vacation in Italy on Friday, July 28. If you didn’t know, pop singer Harry Styles and filmmaker Olivia Wilde dated over the course of nearly two years, reportedly from 2020 to the end of 2022. Their relationship was noted to have started during the filming of Olivia’s sophomore film Don’t Worry Darling, which starred Styles alongside Florence Pugh. So does this “new” Olivia tattoo mean Harry Styles and Olivia Wilde are back together?
Styles was spotted on a boat in Bolsena, Italy, on July 28 showing a tattoo of the name “Olivia” on his upper thigh, eight months after the couple reportedly split. (Side note: James Corden was there.) While Page Six describes the tattoo as new, it’s not entirely clear when Styles got it. Her Campus reached out to Styles’ team for comment on the tattoo but didn’t hear back by the time of publication.Â
Before you go jumping to conclusions, it’s unclear if this is a new tattoo that’s dedicated to Wilde, or if it’s a tattoo dedicated to the One Direction song “Olivia,” released in 2015 on the band’s album Made in the A.M. (However, one thing I am sure about is that this trip to Italy is exactly what Styles needs after finishing his last show for the Love On Tour concert tour, which ended July 22.)
What’s really interesting about this debut of Styles’ thigh tattoo is that Wilde also happens to be in Italy currently. This is according to her Instagram Story, where she posted a bunch of content on July 30, including the fruit at an Italian market and products in store windows.Â
While Styles and Wilde both in the country, there are no signs of them being together — or, as some fans have speculated, back together. (Her Campus reached out to both Styles and Wilde’s teams for comment on the status of their relationship, but didn’t hear back by the time of publication.) It’s quite possible that this tattoo is not new, but it’s just being seen by the public now — and that would be very fair because he’s been on tour for the past three years. Fans haven’t seen much of the star relaxing.
Styles and Wilde’s relationship sparked a lot of controversy amongst the media when photos debuted of them back in 2021 holding hands, as Harry Styles fans were angry that he was dating someone much older (the age gap between Styles and Wilde is 10 years). Fans were also confused as to whether or not Wilde broke off her engagement to Jason Sudeikis because of Styles. Fans know what happened between those three — never forget the salad dressing drama.
