Um, Why Is Twitter Talking About Olivia Wilde’s Special Salad Dressing?

Twitter has been a weird place to be the past few days. Between people freaking out over Hailey Bieber and Selena Gomez’s cozy photo and Nicki Minaj and Latto’s online beef to theorizing about who Jin from BTS will collab with on his solo album, the tweets have been unhinged. And now, Twitter’s all over… Olivia Wilde’s special salad dressing? TBH, there’s a lot more to the story than what Wilde puts on her lettuce.

On Oct. 17, The Daily Mail released an exclusive interview with Wilde and Sudeikis’ former nanny. The ex-nanny — who was kept anonymous — originally spoke with The Daily Mail in a now-deleted video. (Her Campus reached out to The Daily Mail for comment on why the video was deleted, but did not hear back by the time of publication.)

The former nanny claimed that while filming Don’t Worry Darling, Wilde began to spend more time away from Sudeikis and her kids, and eventually broke things off with Sudeikis on Nov. 8, 2020. That was around the same time rumors of a relationship between Wilde and co-star Harry Styles began to swirl. According to The Daily Mail, Sudeikis started sharing more details with the former nanny after the breakup with Wilde, reportedly telling her, “She put the move on [Harry]. She kissed him at one of the dinners they had for the cast in Palm Springs. She did that.”

Sudeikis and Wilde released a statement to The Daily Mail in response to the nanny’s story on Oct. 17, saying, “As parents, it is incredibly upsetting to learn that a former nanny of our two young children would choose to make such false and scurrilous accusations about us publicly. Her now 18-month-long campaign of harassing us, as well as loved ones, close friends, and colleagues, has reached its unfortunate apex.”

According to the former nanny, the situation between Sudeikis and Wilde escalated when Sudeikis became angry over Wilde preparing a salad for Styles using her “special dressing” in their family kitchen. Sudeikis allegedly filmed the entire encounter and then tried to stop Wilde from leaving by laying under her car. The nanny said, “She got in her car to back up, he lay under her car so she wouldn’t leave. She went back into the house and he went in, it was back and forth. He said he was doing it on purpose to make her late going to see Harry.”

The former nanny reportedly asked Sudeikis about the “special dressing,” telling The Daily Mail, “I said, ‘What salad dressing?’ He said, ‘She has a special salad dressing she makes for us and she’s taken it to have it with him now.’ I don’t know what was in it. Out of everything, he was like, ‘She made her special salad dressing and took it to him.’”

Wilde and Sudeikis continued in their joint statement, “We will continue to focus on raising and protecting our children with the sincere hope that she will now choose to leave our family alone.” Her Campus reached out to reps from both Wilde and Sudeikis but did not hear back by the time of publication.

And while all of these claims from Wilde and Sudeikis’ former nanny are a lot to process, what has users on Twitter frantically talking about is… Wilde’s special salad dressing.

Will Wilde ever reveal what’s in that special dressing? Probably not. For all we know, it could just be TikTok’s viral (and highly questionable) pink sauce. The world may never know.
