Warning: Spoilers for Love Is Blind Season 4 ahead. I don’t know about you, but I sometimes find myself paying more attention to the side characters, or cast members, on my favorite TV shows. While there are some definite characters in this season of Love Is Blind, their friends and family have been stealing the show left and right. Some for good reasons, like Kwame’s sister Barbara, and others for not-so-great reasons — Shelby, the internet is looking at you.
In the newest episodes of Love Is Blind, the engaged couples met each other’s families before heading to the altar. Now, a lot of the time, the parents have no problem expressing their weariness at their children marrying a random person they’ve known for two weeks. However, their concern is oftentimes masked with support, and they eventually come around by the time they’ve met their child’s fiancé. Well, in the case of Zack and Bliss, this couldn’t be further from the truth. Bliss’ dad, Shah, was not having it, and Twitter has some thoughts about it.
Zack and Bliss weren’t an original pairing. In the pods, Zack actually chose Irina (who the internet dubbed as one of the season’s villains) over Bliss. But when things didn’t work out, Zack went back to Bliss for a second chance. The two dated for a few days and then decided to get engaged. You know, totally normal stuff.
So, when Zack got the opportunity to meet his fiancé’s parents, things didn’t go as smoothly as he would’ve hoped. It immediately got awkward when the two discovered they have nothing in common, especially after Zack went on a whole rant about the legal system and Shah responded, “I don’t really have an opinion about that, honestly.”
Then, when Bliss and Zack started to talk more about the wedding, Shah said to them, “Twenty days is just insanity. I know you’re happy, but don’t fool yourself.”
On the other hand, Bliss’ mom, Katherine, appeared to be supportive of the marriage. She even went so far as to tell Zack that, since he lost his own, she would step in as his mother. Heartwarming, TBH.
Because of their opposite reactions, Twitter has been obsessing over Bliss’ parents. Some are totally weak at her dad’s reaction to the engagement.
Meanwhile, others are critiquing her father’s actions, and supporting Bliss’ mother.
But, for the most part, Twitter has come to a consensus as to why Bliss’ parents didn’t work out in the first place.
Who will be right? Bliss’ mom or dad? I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
