Mariana Toro Cruz is a writer for the Her Campus at UPR chapter. When she was as young as seven years old, one of her favorite things to do was create short stories. Now, driven by her love for storytelling, she writes articles that dive into personal experiences, cultural topics, books, movies, music, and beyond.
Mariana is an undergraduate student at the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus, where she studies Sociology. Her interest in this field sometimes finds its way into her writing, as it shapes the way she approaches certain topics.
In her free time, Mariana enjoys experimenting with photography and spending time in nature, which can mean sitting by the beach or floating in a natural pool. She can also often be found getting lost in a good book, her all-time favorite being "The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo." Passionate about music and cinema, she's constantly looking for songs to play on repeat and watching movies like it’s a full-time job. More than anything, she loves appreciating the little things that make life more fun.
