Jayona Monique is a third-year Strategic Communications major with a minor in Marketing and a concentration in Public Relations at Hampton University. She currently serves as the PR & Marketing Co-Chair for the Hampton University chapter of Her Campus, where she leads branding strategy, campus visibility initiatives, and audience engagement efforts. She is also the Spring 2026 Wellness Editorial Intern with Her Campus Media, contributing to national lifestyle content focused on wellness, self-care, and personal growth.
As a writer, Jayona covers beauty, wellness, fashion, and identity through a lens centered on Black women and intentional representation. Her work blends cultural commentary with personal reflection, exploring what it means to navigate your 20s with softness, ambition, and style.
Originally from Baltimore, Maryland, Jayona is passionate about storytelling, creative direction, and reshaping media narratives to better reflect Black women’s lived experiences. She finds inspiration in fashion editorials, early morning rituals, and documenting her journey through her visual diary series, Navigating My 20s. Through her work, she aims to redefine representation — written in pink, with purpose.
