Ava McCaulley is a staff writer at the Florida State University chapter of Her Campus. She covers culture, lifestyle, and campus topics that impact women at FSU. This is her first semester on the staff, but she looks forward to growing within her position.
At school, she is a sophomore studying Criminology and Social Work with a minor in History. She was a 2026 Orientation Leader for FSU and is currently a 2027 Orientation Team Leader, serving under the New Students and Families Program. This includes facilitating Orientation sessions, managing Orientation Leaders, and working on events such as Family Weekend. She has interned with FSU’s History Department, specifically working on social media. In this role, she not only worked on graphic design but also on writing for social media. In the past, she has received accolades for her work from various organizations such as the National Scholastic Press Association and the Florida Scholastic Press Association. Other qualifications include Adobe Photoshop and Premiere certification.
In her free time, Ava is an avid anime enjoyer and a pickleball novice. When she’s not watching Attack on Titan or practicing her serves, she’s experimenting in the kitchen and making her friends try the latest dish she’s worked on. Some of her other hobbies are watching Formula One races, cosplaying, and perfecting her own matcha recipe.
