These 3 Zodiac Sign Pairings Are Destined To Be Platonic Soulmates

Down for some double trouble? Today, we’re talking about the zodiac sign pairings most likely to be platonic soulmates. In Signs Of The Times, Her Campus gets all of the dirty details about the signs directly from astrologers. Today, Taryn Leigh Bond, a Tropical Astrologer who offers readings and teaches people how to read birth charts, shares which three sign duos are destined for each other…platonically, of course.

Ah, soulmates. We’ve all heard the term—so much so that, sometimes, it feels like the concept is shoved down our throats. Between celebrity weddings, romance novels, and sappy Rom-Com TV shows (I’m looking at you, The Summer I Turned Pretty), the pressure to meet and find your soulmates seems to come from everywhere. It’s inescapable.

Since Gen Z has adopted a different attitude toward falling in love, the idea of romantic soulmates has become something of a myth. One person that’s made for you, on a planet of 7 billion people? Not counting the possibility of a hot, extraterrestrial being? To Gen Z, that’s cap.

However, soulmates aren’t just romantic. Your bestie could very well be your soulmate…platonically, that is. And while many of us are debating the existence of romantic soulmates, there’s no denying that, sometimes, you can’t help but feel like your best friend was created by the universe specifically for you. Who needs an SO when you have bestie?

Since zodiac signs have been used for years to predict romantic compatibility, what’s to say that the same tactic can’t be used for platonic compatibility? Her Campus spoke to Taryn Leigh Bond, an astrologer, to learn which three zodiac pairings are destined to be platonic soulmates.

Gemini + Scorpio

While these two signs come from different elements (Gemini = air, Scorpio = water), these two signs have more in common than anyone would’ve thought. But what?

“Analyzing everything, for one,” Bond tells Her Campus. “They also tend to love the fact that they can be brutally honest with one another in a way that ultimately helps them both grow.”

Along with these signs’ natural love for the analytical, Geminis and Scorpios are also extremely curious signs. This can lead them to have the same interests in niche topics—like docuseries and informational podcasts. Birds of a feather nerd out together, right?

Virgo + Pisces

On the surface, these signs are as different as can be. While Pisces has a tendency to be romantic and dreamy (big water sign energy), Virgo is more of a realist—thanks to their Earth sign roots. However, these differences may bring these two signs together into an iconic bestie-duo.

According to Bond, “The Virgo-Pisces axis is about serving something greater than you. Both signs can be incredibly idealistic, but in very different ways, and they can offer each other a great deal of support. As receptive mutable signs, both are willing to compromise and respect each other’s differences. A truly sweet yin-yang pairing.”

In this duo, Virgo may be able to help Pisces think practically and realistically, while Pisces can help Virgo think out of the box and, in Bond’s words, “dream about what could be.” Honestly, I’m here for it. Where’s my Virgo bestie at?

Libra + Leo

If there are two signs out there with a bit (okay, more than a bit) of a main character complex, it’s Libra and Leo. While these signs may differ in personality, they have one big thing in common—being hot, obvi.

“Libra and Leo share their affinity for romance, fun, socializing… and sometimes a little flair for the dramatic,” says Bond. “Libra + Leo will bond over dressing up together, going out for the night, blasting throwbacks in the car, or watching their fav rom-com series. Whatever the vibe, Libra and Leo will usually be on the same page about it.”

All I’m gonna say is, I’m begging to be a part of this baddie bestie duo. Is there enough room for this Pisces to enter a friendship throuple? Please!
